2 years ago I went out for karaoke and had a bad experience I had been attending karaoke for months without a problem the food was okay spend about $20 that day I requested to sing Neil diamond's Sweet Caroline and told buy "captain karaoke"" mat "that he uses that song for a break and no one's allowed to sing it... I told him I thought that was stupid just let me sing it and take your break.. he told me I could sing it.. so I did. After the song he told me that I was no longer allowed to be there and it didn't want to see me there anymore.. after a period of time I've heard several rumors that anyone that can sing and shows some talent is givens a hard time and vows never to go back again. A couple of weeks ago the day before my birthday thinking that enough time had passed and maybe he matured I planned a birthday party with 16 of my friends I showed up early to see how he was going to act and after his belligerent stupidity I called my friends and we found somewhere else to go... If you're an average singer you probably have a good time, but if you have any talent he makes it clear that it's "his show". He's repeatedly said "this is my show" it's unfortunate but all true. I have no problem with the bar itself the owner or any of the workers just the kid who is running karaoke. His low self-esteem and horrible customer service is costing the business money.
