Never been here before and went with a local flavor gift certificate. The woman at the counter refused to take my certificate and said it's only good at dinner time which is against the rules. I tried saying that it doesn't say it anywhere on the certificate. She already had a small bag right with my order and she said because of the inconvenience she was going to give me this extra rice pudding that she already had with the food. I've eaten a lot of Chinese locally and I wasn't impressed with how everything was SO greasy. Especially the sweet and sour chicken. Touching one piece my fingers were covered in grease/oil. I have uploaded a picture as well to show you how much grease was on ONE piece of chicken when I tried dabbing it off with a paper towel since they didn't include any napkins. Bled through and got all over my hands. The crab rangoon was not like any I've ever had and wasn't crispy and was very tough and chewy. The filling was really good. The chicken lo main was meh. The wonton soup broth was exceptionally good, but the noodles were not hot in it. I asked for white rice with all 3 of the items I ordered and one came with pork fried rice instead. They did have my food ready in 10 minutes, but I won't ever be going back and will be contacting local flavor to return the gift certificate and explain they aren't going by the rules. I have used about 50 gift certificates at different restaurants with no issues and would hate to see someone else go in with their certificate only to be turned down because they are making their own rules up. I have a Chinese place 1 and a 1/2 miles from my house and I drove to another town just to use the certificate and try...
Read moreThe name ain't no joke! Everything really did taste good lol! We got fried dumplings (8), crab rangoon (6), and wonton soup. These are some of my favorite things to get at Chinese restaurants in the area but the ones from Good Taste are now my favorite! Everything was cooked perfectly. Nicely fried dumplings, sauce that comes with them is amazing. Wonton soup was ginormous, flavorful, and the wontons were tasty! Crab rangoon was a good mix of sweet and savory and it came with a huge amount of sauce to dip with! They also included TWO FREE rice puddings! Ordering online was easy and efficient, and the service was friendly. Will definitely order from them again in the future!!
(Editing my original review of 5 stars to 3 as of 8/17/2022)
I have been disappointed in my last couple orders from here. I ordered crab rangoon and fried dumplings (my favorite things to get here) and this is like the fourth time I've ordered this within a year that they have put barely any meat/filling in either of these (& the filling is the best part). I was basically eating fried wontons that were hard to chew with no crab rangoon and dumplings with barely any meat. In comparison to the original photos I've posted here from a few years ago there was a significant difference in the way they looked this time and the last few times. Not too mention the price of these items has increased a bit. I still adore their wonton soup, rice pudding and the orange chicken is good but I don't think I will be ordering from here anytime soon. I will stick to Lucky Kitchen in Apalachin for my favorites because their dumplings are just as good for about the same price, and their crab rangoon is tastier...
Read moreGood Taste Tastes Great! My favorite Chinese take-out in the area! Their Won Ton soup is the BEST! The staff are friendly and efficient. I love the online ordering site as it is very handy; easy to pick out what you want; how you want it (i.e. extra spicy; condiments you want); when you want it; how to pay for it (i.e. PayPay, Credit Card, In-Person); whether you wish to add a tip (they deserve it!); and your receipt which you can print or save. They are conveniently located near the 4-Corners at the Vestal Pkwy and Main Street and can be reached from the eastbound lane of the Vestal Pkwy or from Front Street, Vestal. Even if you designate a pick-up time, my advice would be to build in an extra 10 minutes just to be on the safe side. I believe everything they do is made up fresh and on the spot and sometimes, given the number of orders or complexity of the orders, etc. I've had to wait. I don't mind waiting for something this good, but my hubby is impatient. So, do yourself a favor and when you get a hankering for Chinese food try out Good Taste and tell them Elaine...
