It's okay! If you like EVERYTHING fried tasting like fish.
I come here, on average, about once a year. I forget that A&W exists and I think to myself "Man, I'd really love a fresh Root Beer!" And occasionally the fried fish sounds like a fun time too. But every single time I eat here I feel very "bleh" before I'm even done eating. I don't know what it is, I don't think it's a sanitation or quality of food issue. Maybe I don't like fried fish as much as that once a year hankering thinks I do, and unfortunately that is something that is very hard to avoid here.
On my last visit I ordered strictly A&W menu items because I wasn't really getting the fish vibe. I got some chicken fingers and fries, cheese curds, and a large, refreshing Root beer. I can't confirm it, but I'm fairly certain that all of their fried food gets fried in the same oil, as everything had that hint of fish to it. I got that same pit of my stomach "bleh" feeling that I get after I eat here, and didn't finish my meal. The Root Beer was great though!
Overall, if fish is your thing, and root beer is your thing, this place is probably a slam dunk for you, but for me I'll be avoiding until me next big hankering for a root...
Read moreI take it was the Manager I dealt with today. We got our food order but didnt get our drinks. The person asked if i got my drinks and i told him no and he said he'd have them in a minute. So I waited and the people behind the counter were getting other orders. So when the Manager gave some their order I asked about my drinks and he said you just ordered two minutes ago just hold on. So I told him it was more than two minutes because we had our food already and he came back with another sarcastic remark. Finally he told a guy that I get my drinks before he took a order from a customer. The only reason I asked about the drinks was because I didn't want my food to get cold. Whether he was the manager or not. You dont talk down to the customers. He could have handled it a...
Read moreLong John Silver's is one of the few fast food eateries that have remained true to their core values and tastes. Cudos! We tend to overbuy on the family meals, just so we can heat up the leftover fillets and hushpuppies in the convection oven the next day. 400*, 10 minutes, outstanding crunchy outside, moist, soft, delicious inside. The hushpuppies are the best, period. We love the green beans with the ham flavor. The coleslaw is nicely seasoned allowing the natural flavors of the carrots and cabbage do their thing. This family is a fan of this quisine and will visit a couple times month. No fishy taste here, just great eating. Highly...
