This restaurant has potential to be great but they need to learn basic customer service. The Indian food was delicious, which is a shame because I had unresolved issues with my visit. In spite of me visiting the restaurant late enough in the evening that there was only one other table being waited on, my dinner took forever to come to me. Once I had my food, if I had to ask for something it took forever for me to get it! Like 10 minutes on average! This is unacceptable, especially when there are almost no patrons to serve. Taking forever to serve me paired with the fact that I had to keep asking for stuff I needed, I kept getting the feeling they wanted me to leave. I had to ask for wine refills and a dessert menu... Without asking me if I was finished eating, they brought me my check, that is when I practically had to beg for a dessert menu! It was like "Here's your check what's your hurry?" Right? LOL And it took another 10 minutes for me to receive my dessert menu... When the dessert menu finally came, I chose Indian Chi tea and requested that they hold the dairy (milk and cream) from it for me. Without asking me, Lipton lemon tea with a lemon wedge came to my table. "This is not what I ordered" I said to the waiter. "Chi tea no good without milk" was my reply. "You try this, you will like it". I said again "This is not what I ordered though". "Try it and you will like it" he repeated back to me. "But I ordered chi tea, please bring me chi tea with no milk" I said with an agitation in my voice. "Chi tea is no good without milk, you try this lemon tea and you will like it". Finally thoroughly disgusted I replied "I like chi tea without milk, only sweetened with sugar". My waiter's last response was "Chi tea is no good sweetened with sugar, only good served with milk". To which I replied and demanded that he bring me my bill, I was finished arguing because I know what I want, and I didn't want lemon tea forced on me instead of Chi tea. I order Indian chi tea all the time sweetened with no milk, my waiter was mistaken and wasn't listening to reason. When I order it else where it always comes sweetened, so holding the milk should be easy.
My last issue was unruly children screaming interrupting my dinner. There was a group of people in the other room of the same establishment having some kind of an event. It was a large group and there were children. Apparently the adults kept socialising and the children grew restless. The children went outside where they acted like wild dogs, screaming and yelling and banging on the glass Windows directly behind me. This is a horrible way to enjoy a meal. No waiter or waitress our manager went outside to calm the children. They got worse. At the height of their wildness several of the children had found orange cones in the parking lot and they were holding them to their mouths and using them as megaphones. They were aiming them right at the windows behind me and screaming loudly. Again, at no point did any of the staff go to the parking lot to calm the children, they acted like they didn't even hear the commotion, as if it is an everyday occurrence or something.
Beware eating at Saffron Indian Cuisine! For me, I'll never be back in...
Read moreWe live near by and moved from the city a while ago and happy to see a good Indian restaurant.
Atmosphere:⭐⭐⭐ It's pretty desolate around 7pm on a weekday, however I see they have a banquet hall so I assume it fills up over the weekend pretty well. Looked pretty much north Indian and had a mild dhaba vibe to it. They played good Punjabi raps of sidhu moose wala and it was hip!
Service:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The service is pretty good. The waitress greeted us, took our order promptly, and brought us our order in accordance to our request. The waiter and waitress came and checked in on us regularly to ask if everything is satisfactory, however I would love to see the same service on the rush hour.
Presentation:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The presentation of the tea was well done ✅. I appreciate the effort to serve tea authentically. Chicken 65 was served with no ketchup (I wish it was given on the side without asking for it as it is done in South India). Biryani was served with Rita, however I missed the onion & carrot salad with some lime on the side as it is supposed to be served.
Taste: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tea was outstanding 🤌, could taste the cinnamon and was robust. Chicken 65 lacked some spice. Biryani was alright, I guess I'll never get hyderabadi Kachi dum biryani, but I liked what they served.
Overall:⭐⭐⭐⭐⅐
I would certainly comeback to taste the rest of the menu.
Thank you for serving...
Read moreTheir biryani was amazing. Chicken curry was more sweet than anything and had no spice to it even though we ordered medium heat. What made me upset was 1- the tandoori was inedible because it tasted like pure fish. My husband and child know I have a strong dislike for fish. When I tried my first bite of the chicken they were staring at me then it hit me pretty instantly that the chicken tasted heavily like fish. Thank god I’m not allergic but why would you cook your food with or near seafood? I didn’t say anything and couldn’t because the waiter didn’t return until he started to take plates off of our table and asked if we needed boxes!! The entire time we were there the waiters never once asked us if we needed anything else or a refill. The wait time was about an hour. We were going to order another biryani but instead of asking if we wanted anything else they asked if we wanted boxes. This kind of experience was a first for me with this restaurant usually I take out and spend hundreds as I did yesterday because we love Indian food but never again. The had a suggested tip of $17+ yeah right! They need better service and to not cook seafood alongside any other dish they’re offering because not only is it gross it’s hazardous to someone who may...
