The bagel Corner and Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Wallkill

This place is a complete disaster. I’ve had my order messed up three times now, and after today’s experience, I am officially done.

I ordered three toasted bagels. What did I get? A bag of eleven. How do you mess that up so badly? Mistakes happen—sure—but this isn’t just a mistake. It’s a pattern of total incompetence.

But the real issue? The manager. Absolutely vile behavior. When I called to explain the mistake (again), she didn’t apologize—she got defensive, rude, and downright nasty. I asked for the owner, who’s usually reasonable, but she wasn’t in. Instead, I got this manager on the phone, and what followed was completely unacceptable.

She tried to blame me for their mistake, told me I’d have to drive 30 minutes back to fix their error, and then—get this—started swearing at me. Profanity, name-calling, and even threatened to ban me from the deli. As if I’d ever go back after being spoken to like that.

This person has no business managing a lemonade stand, let alone dealing with paying customers. The owner seriously needs to wake up and realize this manager is driving people away with her disgusting attitude and lack of professionalism.

There are dozens of bagel shops around—don’t waste your time or money at this one. Unless you enjoy getting the wrong order, being blamed for it, and verbally abused when you speak up. I’ll never step foot in this...

First and foremost, I'm biased, I've been eating here for 12 years! The owner Kate is one of the sweetest and most genuine people I've ever met, and she actually cares about her business and customers. She knows my face, name, and order on sight, and she does with many others as well. This Bagel Shop & Deli has some of the most delicious bagels you can buy, and their breakfast sandwiches have become a staple to probably hundreds of people. Their lunch is amazing, and they are consistently adding and rotating items on the menu, keeping everything fresh. There is an amazing ambiance in here, and it feels very much like NYC. You can come here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and leave happy/satisfied. I highly recommend this place...

The owner, Kate (?), was running the show when we got there. We’d never seen such a successfully Multitasking human. She was efficiently taking orders, calls, prepping meals, and making welcoming conversation with customers, all at the same time. Of course, she probably had to do so much because of the labor shortage, but she was handling it like a CHAMP. We aren’t from the area and I was surprised when she noticed, from my salad order, that I’m likely vegetarian and recommended other wonderful options they have available if I were to come back.
