Norma's is an amazing little gem in the heart of the village. There is ample street parking, and the surrounding area is great for walking. You have Mesier park in one direction and the bridge overlooking Wappingers Falls in the other.
The space is both cozy and spacious at the same time. The decor is very charming and inviting, but they spaced out the seating enough so that I have never felt crowded by neighboring tables. This is a huge thing for me now, after having the luxury of social distancing over the pandemic. I really enjoy not feeling like someone else is breathing on my food and drinks.
The staff is always friendly and greet me when I walk in. I love that this is a women-owned business and their other location is in my hometown of Queens. I already try my best to support local businesses, but they make it real easy with their awesome staff and amazing food and drinks.
I've tried many items off their menu, and I have to say that I've never been disappointed. I think my favorite right now is the Toasted Goat grilled sandwich - fig jam, creamy goat cheese, diced bacon, and honey. Just writing about it now is making me drool!
The space has plenty of seating, and they even offer wifi. On top of everything, their prices are very reasonable. 5/5 all around, they are on my regular rotation of local coffee shop/bakeries...especially on days where I'm playing Pokemon Go...
Read moreGreat atmosphere with the hardware for great coffee. Had an oat milk mocha which on the one hand was good because it wasn’t too sweet but on the other was disappointing since I didn’t really taste any coffee. It also would be nice if they used organic truly locally roasted coffee since there are options for that. I also feel if you’re going to sit down in a cafe then you should be served in a ceramic cup, not paper. They have ceramic cups and even feature them on social media but for some reason weren’t using them. I got the New Yorker sandwich with avocado instead of bacon. They have lots of bread choices which was really nice. I forgot to note if there was a gluten free option, but with all the choices I’m guessing there was. It took a surprisingly long time for the sandwich to be prepared given that I was the only customer in the shop. The presentation was very nice, but the sandwich wasn’t seasoned. Maybe they do that since people usually get it with bacon and that provides enough, but with the avocado option, the taste was unfortunately bland. I’ll certainly try this place again, but the appearance and the actual experience didn’t align on this visit. Hopefully it will...
Read moreCame in to visit this new bakery in town & follow up some work emails. Very cute and simple! One thing out of ordinary and extremely AWESOME is the children’s play area. Making if super convenient for parents to come in enjoy breakfast w family or friends with something to pre occupy the kids with. I actually love that ( even tho I have no kids 😂). Friendly suggestion to put up sound foam on the wall near the children’s play pen so the kids playing doesn’t bother others that are by the window on business calls and work emails. I love that the vibes are so diverse… loved looking around to see some alone working, moms grabbing coffee together w kids, work buddies grabbing a quick bite and myself for a quick sandwich coffee and e-mail returns. My coffee was delicious, I got a carmerel oat milk iced coffee. My “New Yorker” breakfast sandwich was delicious. I think I’ve found my morning safe...
