Brimont Bistro — Restaurant in Town of Webster

I saw great reviews online and brought my mom to try it out. It was early on Saturday evening - about 5:30pm. When we walked through the door, the lady behind the bar asked us if we had a reservation. I told her we didn’t, and asked if we should make one, or if they had availability for a party of two. She turned to the gentleman (her boss?) and told him there were two of us, suggesting that she was verifying the availability. The gentleman by the bar rudely stated, “yeah, you should’ve made a reservation” and that we “should always make a reservation”. His tone was so condescending and snarky, I was rather shocked. Furthermore, the people already dining there heard it and stared at us. It was quite embarrassing! A good, quality restaurant is not just about the food. It’s about how people are treated. They could’ve at least offered to take our phone numbers, in case there was a cancellation, or at least politely say, “I’m sorry, we are fully committed tonight. If you’d like to come back, we recommend making a reservation first”. I’m sorry to say that this establishment will not be receiving my business any time soon. This quality and quaint restaurant is a true gem of delicious cuisine. My husband and I agree they have the very best hamburgers in Rochester, NY. The 100% angus beef is an extremely substantial and high quality patty. My choice of melted Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, tomato, lettuce on a fresh roll ….in the world of hamburgers it doesn’t get any better. The sides are limited because they are made fresh and always delicious. The weekly special meatloaf …another highlight, high quality and savory, melt in your mouth deliciousness. If we have any room we end the meal with an expertly made crème brûlée. This restaurant specializes in French cuisine and I have yet to find any restaurant that can top this rich and creamy desert. In addition to the quality of food the atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve entered a European cafe. Linen napkins, a very private outdoor patio with fresh herbs and music makes this restaurant a standout from the run of the mill fast, loud and fried food dining experience. Walked in with a party of 5 to an empty restaurant and was first greeted with a disrespectful host annoyed with us not having reservations. Had our whole group sit and wait at the front door while she set our table and made our entrance a very akward and uncomfortable experience.

Throughout the dinner the waitress was short and aggravated, making our group almost sit in silence due to the tension between us. The whole time the dining experience, the waitress would storm off up and down the stairs showing to us that us dining there has been a major inconvenience.

Following, the waitress wrote down one of my friends orders wrong and blamed him for her wrongdoing, embarrassing him in front of our whole party. Regarding that they reused the wrong burgers patty and slapped it on another roll giving it to him since she wrote down the wrong order.
