Stopped in for breakfast. They open early, the food was good for a diner experience.
I had the Philly Cheesesteak Omelet. Toast and Jam. The omelet shell was as thin as an egg shell or paper, unsure to say amazing skills, or should have just asked for a pile of meat. The first time I had eggs and not known it.. The meat was very dry. If you decide to try it, I would say get some mayo.. it makes it way better. Unsure why they don't offer it with it.
The toast was toast, hard to mess that up. Lol. The Jelly wad outstanding good, but served ice cold for your non spread-ability.
Think the whole plate could use more seasonings to bring it to life. Cost wise, 12.75. Ended up with toast and water dropping 20.. end of the day it was filling but still costly.
Service was great.
Atmosphere... Tight, sardines would feel cramped.. The bathroom was and is laughable. So many memories of a cruise ship. The first time I was able to was my wash hands and try then all while still sitting on the pot. Sit down gently too.. lol it's a rocker chair.
But.. it did the job for a small town.
O and cash only.. and pay...
Read moreI was in wellsville for a month visiting family. I’m originally from Florida so small dinners are few and far between. My granddaughters birthday was during my visit . I had to listen to a 10 year old say the entire time I was there that she wanted to go as a family to a place called Modern Dinner. When we finally made it to the dinner and walked in My first impression was just like the town , small and cozy. The place was busy with many of the locals and waitresses skating around and laughing with customers. The smell of food cooking made my mouth water. We sat down in a booth with a party of 6. The waitress came to our table and was very patient ,pleasant and helpful as we glued our order together. Food arrived pretty fast for the size of our order. I seen why this place was so packed. I haven’t had good old fashioned dinner food since I was 12 in Miami before everyone found the place. I would highly recommend if your in Wellsville to find this little jewel of hidden treasure, you might thank me later. I’m definitely going back on my next...
Read moreI've never had a bad experience dealing with the staff there. But today I called and ordered sausage gravy & biscuit for pick up. When I arrived, she politely rang up my total which came to $7.00 and some change. So I paid and started to head for the door. As soon as I turned to leave the waitress that had cashed me out called over to the other waitress and said "yep no tip. Can you believe that." And I couldnt hear the what else she was saying cuz I just left. But I could hear her saying more. I found it very rude of her to do that in front of the customer. Yes I'll admit I did not leave a tip on a seven dollar to go meal. But I did for a brief second look for a tip jar/bucket for the cook as some restaurants do that (like Texas hots for example) which I did not notice or find. But I'll be sure to leave the dollar tip next time since it was an offense to that waitress. The food is always great, and the service is usually great. But today I was highly disappointed by...
