Food was ok but expected much higher quality with price. Picture is all the fat cut off a single ribeye!?!? Simply surprised that a $42 ribeye had so much fat on the exterior rather then the typical marble you find in a quality cut ribeye. This place would be a 3 star if it weren’t for the experience and energy. After 3 attempts to try and eat here we finally did. The first time they weren’t seating anyone for the rest of the night at 8 pm. 2nd visit we come in. We wait 5 minutes to even see a team member. Then the owner comes out and says I will be with you in a minute. We say ok. She then asks if we have a reservation. We reply with a no and there are 3 open tables we can see it the little front room. She then tells us that they are no longer serving? We respond with a ok and ask when do you generally stop serving she says. When we’re tired! Huh? Couldn’t believe that. Finally the 3rd time we get a table. Experience from the owner that sat us was lack luster. Maybe even labeled as poor/rude. Food was mediocre. Our server who did appear to be the only server must have said sorry every time she came to the table. Sorry it took so long, sorry you didn’t get drinks for 20 minutes, sorry sorry sorry. Not just to our table but to every table that we could see/hear there. Though here in the north woods finding a restaurant open late is a hard thing to do making someone feel welcome and smiling isn’t. This place simply doesn’t make the cut as a place to go in the north woods. Hopefully this review will help the owners see that the way they treat their patrons is unacceptable and you need to do better!

Absolutely delicious. Enjoyed meeting the owners Tony & Katy and learning their personal connections to the Northwoods, one could make the case that the historic Milwaukee Road depot that houses Anthony's Restaurante is the perfect melding between Star Lake and Tomahawk, WI - their respective home towns. Loved the historic, charming, and kitchy atmosphere of the log railway depot. We've driven by a hundred times and never taken the time to stop, honestly one of my bigger mistakes as the hospitality at Anthony's Restaurante was genuine and "home town", and the food was excellent. Our entrees were delicious; she had the seafood alfredo and I had the Jamison Filet. Both served with icy crisp house salads and cranberry butter for the slices of french bread. This was our first visit and most certainly will not be our last, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and our meals. Thank you Katy and Tony for making us feel so welcome.

We made reservations (based on recommendations from other reviews) and really enjoyed the delicious food and cozy atmosphere. A very welcome change from the typical packed supper club vibe that tourist season brings. I ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and the tenderloin medallions cooked rare as my main. Both were phenomenal. The tenderloin was fork tender and had so much flavor! Brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked and some of the best I’ve ever had. The house made olive tapenade was so good that I’d be back for that on its own. Make a reservation & give it a try if you’re looking for some high quality food in a relaxing environment. We’ll definitely be back.

First of all, I want to say that I make a lot of reviews on Google. Out of all the restaurants I've reviewed, I can say that our experience at Anthony Ristorante was probably the worst experience of my life. I wish I could say the foods good, I really do, but after 3 hours of waiting all I can say I was able to try was 1 shrimp, and it was average at that.

For those that don't care to hear a story, a quick summary can be that no restaurant ON THIS PLANET is worth waiting 3 hours for. We didn't even get our food!

To start off this evening, we made a reservation 3 days prior to eat there at 6:30. I had a feeling things weren't going to go in the right direction after we weren't seated until close to 7 even though we had a reservation. Once we were seated, between the 30 minute gaps when our waitress would stop by, we ordered our food and waited, and waited, and waited. After an hour, our waitress told me the food I ordered wasn't available. Great, I wish I was told that 45 minutes ago, but I'll let it be. Another 40 minutes later (we are now sitting at 1 hour 40 minute wait) our waitress brought us our appetizer which I paid $30 to try 1 shrimp that was average. Another 40 minutes later, after we've finally got our last round of drinks that we ordered when we received our appetizer, we were sitting close to 3 hours wait since we walked through the door. At that point, this wasn't alright and I said F$#@ it and walked up to the bar and asked for the bill. I paid the bill, after the receipt was thrown at me, looked around for a pen, since the waitress didn't hand me one, paid for what we had and left a tip. Wasn't even comped or anything for the experience. A receipt thrown at me without a word... That was the final straw for me.

This experience literally ruined our weekend because I drove multiple hours to visit my parents and have a nice evening together. I am honestly at a loss for words. It was so late at the point we left the restaurant we had to order pizzas from the BP down the road. Anthony Ristorante sucks.

Edit: Also, I want to add our table wasn't the only table having issues. While we were getting up to leave, we witnessed the poor waitress have to tell another table that they were out of steak, so that man was only 1 hour into the 3 hour process. Sorry my guy, but the...

Want to give an amazing shout out to the owner's of this cozy and adorable establishment. Earlier this week I messaged asking about vegan options(new vegan here) and they were happy to accommodate and provided several delicious sounding options. I booked a party of six and let the chef surprise me with the vegan option.

When we showed up last night, it smelled amazing in the place. It was so cute and eclectic inside! We were seated in the back. My German hubs was overjoyed that Wienerschnitzel with spaetzel and mushroom gravy was the "special." No question he was down for that!

They made vegan bruschetta and it was so delicious! The rest of the party tried the fried mozzarella and lost their minds with delight! Another really nice touch was the fresh bread and accompanying spreads: an orange cranberry butter, a jalapeño raspberry spread and olive tapenade. All were so good!

My dish ended up being some beautiful thinly slice eggplant, lightly breaded and panfried over hearts of palm pasta and their amazing marinara. My husband, who is extremely picky raved about the weinershnitzel. What a treat that was for him! The owner is a MASTER of pan frying.

Another AWESOME thing is that they use Luxardo cherries in their Shirley Temples and Old Fashioneds. You can really tell they they work so hard and care about quality ingredients! Thank you so much for a delicious and special birthday meal! We...
