The Bagel Emporium of Yorktown Heights — Restaurant in Town of Yorktown

By far best bagel place I've encountered in Northern Westchester but I haven't done a ton of investigating. Their baked goods and challah are also quite good. Sandwiches are killer. Wish they carried LaCroix cans or some wider variety of drinks (especially coffee shop type drinks like chai lattes and espressos - they only serve coffee in large self serve canisters but the coffee there is quite good, says my wife). The beverage selection is my only problem there. Not much better than say your average gas station.

But these guys have the best bagels, the best lox, the best whitefish salad, the best black and white cookies, the closest thing you'll find to Zabar's North of White Plains that I have found. Good rugelach but they don't seem to make babka. What gives?

They also have cool/funny shirts that all the staff wear. I wish they sold them...

This place is good. Not the best but pretty good.

Prices are absolutely insane though. I feel nickled and dimed for just about everything.

Somehow 6 bagels and 2 egg sandwiches brought me to over $35.

The "build your own egg sandwich" starts at over $5, without even adding the cheese and meat.

If the bagels are 1.90 each, then you're telling me that it costs almost $4 to throw 2 eggs on there? And then charge $1.5+ and $2+ for cheese and meat respectively? And then there's additional fees for credit card usage, which I would hope is already baked into the price like at most places but they're not when they display the price in person.

Like I said, it all feels nickle and dimey at this point.

Terrible experience and customer service. I came to this location Sunday August 2nd around 130 or so. I was waiting in line for about ten minutes as the employee we're having their conversations. Eventually I had to interrupt them to ask if they are willing to take my order. As all this is happening, I observed the staff start taking bagels and spreads out of the display case. By the time the staff was ready to serve me, and I went to order an everything bagel, the staff member already removed all of the everything bagels and brought them to the back. When I asked for the everything bagel, the response I received was "looks like we're all out". Overall terrible customer...
