I decided to try Primal Bowls after a consistent recommendation from a local resident I do business with. As a Tropical Smoothie fan, I was excited to support another local spot and try something new while I was in the area.
The establishment itself is beautiful and has a charming, welcoming aesthetic. However, I did want to share some feedback about my experience with the staff member working this morning. Unfortunately, her demeanor came off as quite unwelcoming. I understand we all have off days, but at 8am, her energy felt particularly disengaged and even a bit dismissive. When I asked a few basic menu questions, her responses were curt and carried a tone that felt unnecessarily condescending, as if I should have already known the answers.
As a fellow small business owner, I truly value the importance of customer service and retention, so I tried to gently steer the interaction in a more positive direction, but it was clear she wasn’t interested in engaging. Despite this, I want to emphasize that the bowl I ordered was absolutely delicious, and the overall ambiance of the space was wonderful.
I share this feedback with the intention of being constructive. This employee’s attitude didn’t reflect the warmth or brand promise that I imagine the owners would want for their business. A simple “good morning” or “have a nice day” can go a long way in shaping a customer’s experience.
Lastly, I’m someone who believes in tipping generously, sometimes even more so when service falls short, as a reminder to always lead with kindness. However, the staff member exited out of the tip screen before I had the chance to make a selection, which felt like an assumption was made about me as a customer.
All in all, I will absolutely continue to support Primal Bowls because the food is excellent and I love seeing local businesses thrive. I just wanted to take a moment to share this honest feedback in hopes that it supports the continued success...
Read moreSo happy Primal Bowls is in Yorktown and closeby. It's become a daily staple in my routine of [trying/pretending] to be healthy and workday. Now when I don't get my work done, it's not because I'm not energized and full (sorry for the double negative). But nothing negative about my many experiences ordering from Primal Bowls. Everyone that works there has been extremely friendly, professional -- and, most importantly, THEY MAKE THE BEST FOOD and you don't feel guilty for eating [or indulging -- I view their coconut/acai combo base as ice cream but with fruit and chica mixed in I can almost convince myself I'm living a healthy lifestyle. Don't even get me started on anything they have with nutella or cookie dough (the protein bar is absolutely amazing and such a good snack/meal -- I like to freeze it even longer). Anyway, sorry for rambling but couldn't recommend Primal Bowls more. From the vibe inside, to the food, service, etc. etc. etc.!!! I've probably tried most things on the menu and the avocado toast and Fiesta Salad are definitely great options for brunch/lunch/dinner. And you can often split them into two or combine with...
Read moreI love to come here and relax and get some work done. It’s always pretty quiet with just enough opportunities for “people watching”, and the aesthetic there is pretty calming. A lot calmer than Starbucks, imo. My go-to is the fiesta salad, but if I’m there early I’ll definitely get some oatmeal and coffee or any Acai bowl. You can’t go wrong with their Acai bowls. The juices are fantastic. I’ll go for the red root juice for a little pick me up. One of the owners is always around and is friendly and talkative. Just an overall friendly cafe for some good food and a little work. Oh, and my kids love the avocado toast!
Edit 3/18/25. Just got the wraps here. Had no idea they were so good. Super full, fresh and so tasty. No pictures because I ate half any my kids attacked the other half! Dubai chocolate bowl...
