This place hasn't changed in almost 30 years! They are one of the last true BBQ places left! I've been eating here since I was a kid and it's one of the only places in New Port Richey that makes me remember home! The pork platter is made with a huge helping of melt in your mouth meat and the BBQ sauce is sweet and tangy! The wings are so unique to other places with the nice crispy parmesan breading! The beans and potatoe salad are fantastic sides! The prices are very reasonable for the high quality food and the service is amazing! I can't say enough about this place! Definitely worth a try if you are new to the area and want an authentic BBQ place that isn't a chain restaurant!!

Pit Boss Bar-B-Q isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a community tradition that’s been serving up the best BBQ since 1985. Commuters and locals recognize the sweet oak smoke smell instantly. It has a casino/card room theme but what's really worth betting on is the BBQ. Yes, it may be a little off the main drag now, but the extra mile is definitely worth it. You’re supporting a local gem that’s been a part of the community for generations, and every bite of their delicious BBQ reminds you why they’ve been around for so long. So if you're looking for a great meal and a fun vibe, take the short drive and experience Pit Boss Bar-B-Q — your taste buds will thank you!

Got in there at about 12:30 on Tuesday, 3/12/19 a lot of room, no wait. I was surprised. My son said it smelled like heaven. I ordered fried mushrooms, jalapeno poppers, a bowl of chili w/onions and a "Blackjack" - A Spicy Sausage, grilled on the Pit topped with grilled Red Onions and Green Peppers w/fries. All was great. The only issue was that the main course arrived a little too quickly. I was half way through the chili when the entrée arrived. Other than that, it was really nice. A really cozy place on a small strip mall. I wished I could have sat there and drank all the beer, but my wife can't drive a pickup. So I drink soda.

Absolutely the worst service ever. I have been going there for over 1 year couple times a week. The place was only half filled and mist those people already had food. It took the waitress 15 mins to get 2 iced teas, while she stood at the waitress stand not doing much. The people at the bar who sat down when we got our drinks got theirs in 2 mins. The food finally arrived 40 mins after we sat down and it was all cold, not cool but cold. They did replace part of it which stayed hot for over 20 mins. So how long did it sit there waiting to be delivered?? The waitress said they were busy, so if they were busy we don’t get hot food??? Asked for a to go box and she stood at the counter for 5 mins, I finally when and got my own to go box. She didn’t say anything as I walk past her. When to the bar to pay and she had the nerve to say she didn’t get the to go box because she was taking food to the tables before it got cold. So some people do get hot food, but we only got hot food after complaining. Then she tried to take my credit card from my hand while I was working with the bartender to pay the check. She even got the cook to chime in before we left telling us it was busy. Really so if the place is half full it’s busy and you can’t get hot food or good service. I will never go back because the waitress should never have tried to argue with me or get snotty, which she did ever time she opened her mouth. Hope the owner reads how the business is...

Let me start by saying our server was great, attentive and friendly.

This was a first visit for my me and my wife and it wasn't a good impression. After ordering and waiting for about 40 minutes our server told us that the kitchen had "forgot" our order somehow. She did offer a $5 gift certificate for the inconvenience.

When the food finally arrived the disappointments continued. My wife had a half baby back rib dinner plate and I had pork rib plate. Both of our ribs came out cold. The pork rib meat was tough and chewy and all of the flavor was in the sauce which wasn't even that good. My wife wasn't impressed with her baby back ribs, either. The server also let us know when the food arrived that one side we each ordered wasn't available. Would have been nice for the kitchen to let her know that before the food hit the table. It's unfortunate that the best part of a rib dinner were the fries. And after reading other reviews I realized we never even got the Texas Toast that is supposed to be served with every dinner platter.

I'm not sure how this place gets such great reviews if the average visit is anything like ours. I like to support local businesses which is why we came here and not the chain BBQ place just up the road but next time we'll go...

Visited 3/23/19. Waited about 20 minutes to get seated. When ordering, asked waitress if me and my son could get our chicken sandwich chopped. The waitress said they were really busy 😐. When it came out as filets I spent the first 20 minutes shredding it myself with two forks which would have obviously take them all of 20 seconds to do 🙄. Also asked for mayonnaise. Finished shredding my son’s chicken, then my own, and she never came back with the mayo despite coming to the table behind us multiple times. That same table was seated well after us (a table of 4), they ordered appetizers, ate their meal, paid their tab, and were gone before I took my first bite of food. My husband ended up going to the counter and got mayonnaise for me. By the time I started eating, all my food was cold. My husband ordered wings and only ate half of them. He said they were really breaded and had a tomato sauce flavor which he didn’t care for. My youngest refused to eat his hamburger (which is rare). Waitress got a $3 tip...a dollar for each time she showed up to our table. My self-served shredded chicken sandwich was really good but doubt we’ll be back. Some customer service would...
