After waiting about 45 minutes (we time everything in restaurants for this reason) with no refills, no table checks, we got up to see what was taking so long for our food. The server was rude when responding saying we had only had the food in for 17 minutes (which is still too long for breakfast, I've worked at breakfast places and I currently work at a steak house and not even steak dinners take 17 minutes to cook, and I also knowhow long eggs take to cook). However, because I'm in the business I'm patient, I know things come up and I can see if someone is being ran by a table. My server was no where to be seen for the whole duration of us waiting for our food. So for 20 minutes (according to him) we sat without refills, without being checked on, even a "hey sorry the food is taking so long, it should be right out" would've made things better. His body language and demeanor made everything uncomfortable, and he wasn't in the slightest apologetic, just very defensive and even as he put our food down was telling us we were wrong. We've been to the restaurant numerous times before this, we used to love it and recommend it to people and bring our family from out of town there but we will never be back. It was my boyfriends birthday breakfast and I'm so disappointed and regret choosing to spend it at this restaurant. The waiter was most rude to him, shoving his toast that came late in his face. It's sad because I like to support family owned restaurants and the food has always been decent but it's obvious the waiter doesn't value his job and because I know his parents own the restaurant I won't be returning. I would have left 0 stars...
Read moreMy boyfriend took me here the other day because he had been here one other time and really enjoyed it. Because of this, I came in here having pretty decent expectations! I never like writing poor reviews but unfortunately my experience here wasn’t the best. The general atmosphere of the cafe is really nice and the host was personable. Our server (I cannot remember her name) was alright at best. Upon taking our order, I told the server that I had a pretty bad intolerance to gluten and dairy, and she said my dish was gluten free but the hashbrowns I ordered were cooked in butter. I politely asked if she could make sure they refrained from cooking my food in butter. When I asked this, she didn’t even acknowledge my request and made an annoyed face, then proceeded to take my boyfriends order. The food overall was alright, but I didn’t notice until a few bites in that my hashbrowns were slathered in butter. Our server never came by to even ask how our food was, and only came back to drop of the check, so i didn’t get the chance to resolve this issue. I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately this instance has caused me to be in a great deal of discomfort for the following day and we won’t be...
Read moreStopped over at this place for the first time today, it was a slower morning, I was immediately waited on and my waiter was nice and attentive. Place looks nice and clean, and a relatively calm atmosphere. I placed my order, enjoyed some nice coffee and everything came out looking fantastic. I ordered the Belgian waffle with egg and bacon, I also added some hash browns because I can't go without them! I have to say this is the first place where I got these square Belgian waffles. Now shape to me isn't what matters, It's really about how they taste and if they actually use waffle batter vs pancake batter, personally a floppy soft waffle is just not right. Well these were made excellent, crispy on the outside but full inside. Everything else was perfect no complaints. One other thing that I feel is worth mention. For those with kids, the tables are covered with this nice brown paper, it had me reminiscing on being young and getting to color or drawl at restaurants while waiting, bring a pencil or some crayons and I'm sure no one will mind the extra fun, paper is probably replaced after each customer anyways. (I have no idea if they have the paper out...
