I've been excited for this place to open ever since I found out what the new construction in our town square was all about.
I came in a little after 2:00 and the place was pretty empty. First thing I noticed when I walked in were the dirty tables despite the fact the place was empty. Also, at the first table directly in front of the doors were employees just sitting around looking bored.
Service was prompt as soon as I walked up to the counter although the cashier was pre-occupied when checking me out. I had to politely wave my hand to get his attention.
Food was tasty as is most chipotle food.
I realize it's their first day and there are kinks to work out. However, first impressions matter, and a dirty restaurant, with employees and management seemingly not caring, is a bad look.
On my way out, despite walking past the aforementioned table of employees, not one of them thanked me for coming in.
Final note: to who I presume was a manager with the laptop, it's a really poor look to roll your eyes and gossip about your employees when they walk away. Especially in front of guests. It's a reflection of the lack of professionalism you are not only bringing to the business but ultimately to your guests.
I just don't understand why Chipotle struggles so hard with customer service. If you look at Yelp scores for Chipotles in the greater DFW area, it's a clear pattern of 1-2 star averages for each restaurant.
Contrast them with a concept like Jersey Mike's or Dutch Bros, In-n-Out, or Chick -fil-A. What's the one thing all of those restaurants have in common? Phenomenal customer service. The customer is left WANTING to return.
Yet, with Chipotle, there is none of that. They seem to consistently treat their customers as just another order, and our business is taken for granted, because yes, their food is good.

Read moreFrom the moment I walked in, Ms. Verline greeted me with a warm and friendly welcome. Amiyah, the young lady helping on the line, was incredibly polite, patient, and attentive to my food requests—I ordered a veggie bowl and a steak bowl, and she made sure everything was just right.
I also want to recognize Ms. Kourtni, the manager on duty. She was not only kind to the customers but also showed genuine support and encouragement to her team. It looked like Ms. Verline was still in training, and Ms. Kourtni was right there beside her, offering guidance with patience and professionalism.
