Dixie's Fish and Chicken — Restaurant in Troutman

I've been here five times. All five times I've ordered the same thing. The first two times I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, I got someone else's order, clearly as I did not order catfish the first time, or popcorn shrimp the second time. The third time I actually did get a grilled chicken sandwich, but my side order was wrong. I'm not sure how, because I always order a grilled chicken sandwich and fries with a drink. The fourth time I tried to order just a piece of grilled chicken, I was told that they did not make that even though it's on the menu. I asked for clarification because I'm looking at the menu... But the apathetic young gal helping me said that they didn't really go by the menu. I asked how I should order things if I didn't know what they had, she had to ask someone else if they had a current copy of a menu that I could look at. I asked for the grilled chicken sandwich without a bun and she did not know how to do that so I ended up leaving without ordering anything. The last time I was there was about a week ago, I again tried to order the grilled chicken sandwich with french fries and a drink. The person cashing me out failed to mention that the fountain drink machine was not working, after she handed me a cup. She offered me one of the glass bottles, but they had nothing diet so there wasn't anything I could have other than water or unsweetened tea. That would have been super helpful to know before I finalized my order. Unfortunately I had already included a tip in the order when I cashed out, I would very much have liked to reverse that because she did not offer good customer service. Needless to say, after five screw-ups, I will not be back. The ambiance is great, the food is decent but not spectacular but double check your order! Kats patch across the way is much less expensive, the customer service is considerably better, and the food is much better (they have absolutely no problem happily providing a grilled chicken anything for me...

I was thrilled to finally get the chance to grab some food from here. Although I do not eat fish or seafood my family does. We were on the way somewhere and this was along the way. we went in ordered the meal a family of 4 got all individual meals, so it was a nice cost. We watched others order after us several times and them all get their food orders???? Finally at 8;05 after sitting and looking confused we had to go up and ask about our food. The women took our receipt went to the kitchen about 3 minutes later she cam back and said we are bagging it now. So at that point not sure how long it sat, then to get home....Once home and opened it:it was like it had all sat in the warming light for a while and put in the bag, the moisture had made the burger absolutely in un able to eat.I gave my food to the dogs, they liked it guess you got some stars from them, but my dogs love most human food. The shrimp was moist and breading falling off. The buffalo chicken bites were wet and rubbery. Of course you know the fries were old tasting and feel. Once we brought it to their attention and got the food, they were not apologetic, basically pushed our food at us and said oops sorry. i don't think it mattered to them cause we are not regulars and are not treated as such, Just the same as this will not matter the post due to there being do many who regularly go and have good things to say, The thing is you can not judge a book by its cover who is to say we would not have been back if all was good, but at this point they did not even try to turn mess up around to please the customer. i am sad they could care less about those who they do not regularly see. I have always thought if a mistake is brought to your attention you do the best you can to listen, apologize, and resolve. No resolution or care in this case. Thank you but no thank you we will go else where for any foods...

I was at the troutman location tonight. I arrived at 4:59 and placed my order inside. They were extremely busy when I got there so I knew I would have a small wait and had no problem with that. BUT 55 minutes to get my food is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!! After 20 minutes, I asked the guy taking orders if he could check on my order, he came back and said it’ll be right out. I waited another 10 min and then I realized 2 others that came in AFTER me had already placed their order, got it and had left. So at that point I stood up closer to the checkout counter so that they would see me and be reminded I’m there. One lady saw me and asked about my order, she then went to check on it and said there were three tickets in front of mine, it would be right out. As I look around, I see 2 teenagers that had come in AFTER me was already eating their food. I waited another 10 min and told the guy that took my order that i had been there for 40 min and I have watched a total of 6-8 people come in AFTER me, place their order, get their food and leave. He then yelled to the cooks to check on my order, the other girl that I had spoke with was trying to rush my order as well. I FINALLY get it after 55 minutes. They did give me a free drink for waiting so long. WOW!!!! That’s it. Thanks!!! I then get my food outside to the car and check it and the burger was wrong. Every single time we go, it is at least a 20 min wait no natter what time we go, what day we go or what way we place the order (inside, drive thru or chow now). The service is absolutely horrible there. Tonight was the last straw. I will not be going back!! They need to get stuff straight on the way they...
