Christmas Eve 2023. Carryout order of Fish and chips dinner & Chicken Fingers dinners. Check orders before you leave and get a copy of your receipt to complete the survey. Conveniently they did not give me mine. They package the food tight in the bags. You need to open it to verify that you are not missing anything. As much of an inconvenience as it is, do it. We came in from out of town and stayed in a nearby hotel. We are from Metro Detroit, and have experienced most other Big Boy's in the area. This was the worst experience with BB in my 35+ years. Before leaving the lobby, I had to return because I didn't feel ketchup in the bag. Now, a new lady was at the register so she was unaware of my order. I politely asked and was given "the look", and given 3 packets for two dinners both with fries. I asked for more and explained that I had two orders of fries, was given a negative "look again" and she handed me 3 more. By now, I am just ready to leave. Got to the hotel room They missed both our coleslaws.
My bill was $31.86, I paid $40 and left change as a tip for carryout treatment like that! Not again at this location. We will be in the area in a few weeks. If there is a desire, we will go to the one in Warren. This location turned me off. UPDATE: provided my feedback on the corporate site. No receipt doesn't prevent...
Read moreToday was my 1st visit to this Big Boy location as the one closest to my home is the Hall road location. The place was spotless, the service was wonderful the atmosphere cheerful and it was busy with many seniors and others having lunch. I gave 5 stars in all categories EXCEPT overall and this is why. There were many seniors today enjoying lunch but one elderly couple close to me ordered their sandwich and told the waiter they wanted to share it. The waiter kindly explained he could do that but had to charge them $.50 to do so. WHAT???? Today this just hit me sideways and I had to say something. This is not a Ruth Chris restaurant. Is it the extra plate you bring out? Because you bring me a plate with my cup of soup that I don’t need and happily bring me extra plates or spoons when I’ve shared a dessert at other Big Boy’s at no additional fee so this must be this location. Sandwiches already come out cut in two pieces to the table so really they wouldn’t need to even tell you they were splitting it, but they did because they are honest from their generation. I speak up for the elderly because it could be my parents or yours. Big Boy’s on 15 mile road in Troy… you know you can do better for...
Read moreMy wife and I have been going to this Big Boy for years and we think it's the best Big Boy location around this area. The food is consistently good, fresh, hot and great tasting. The management and staff have been there a long time and are great at what they do. The soup and salad bar is always clean and stocked and the items are fresh. The Big Boy burger and chili tastes the same as it did 60 years ago when I first had it and that is a taste I keep coming back for. Yesterday we had Gerry for our "friend" as we like to call the servers and Gerry is one of the very best servers we've ever had anywhere we've ever been. friendly, kind and polite and will take time to actually learn who you are and what you are all about and then treats you like a king/queen. We love getting Gerry as our server. But all the other servers are good as well... we've never had a bad experience at this location although we have at other locations. Keep up the great work Troy Big Boy and we'll see you...
