China King — Restaurant in Troy

We've been dining here for over 20 years. This is our "go-to" Chinese choice. We live about 30 min away, so we have other options, but still choose to come here. Their crab rangoons are the best around & love the chick teriyaki sticks! I, personally, am not a fan of fried rice or lo-mein (not a reflection on their food, theirs is good!) But those are hubbys "go-to" choices. I like things with veggies, meat, sauce & spicy. So anything mongolian is good. But also like chick & veggies, shrimp & veggies, etc. I like that you can request a dish that isn't normally spicy, to have a little heat added to it. And they will tweak items in a dish if you ask. I don't care for bamboo shoots, so always ask that they are left out. Not a tofu fan, but son loves their fried tofu dish. And yes, I tasted it & it is good. I just wouldn't ever order it for myself. Lol. Be prepared if you go in or call in during a Fri or Sat night, they are BUSY! I think last night was about a 35 min wait, but they were slammed!! The young man at the desk was answering phones, taking walk in orders, handing out call in orders, getting online orders off the comp, collecting money, etc. And the kitchen staff was hauling butt getting orders out. I don't mind waiting. To me, it is a sign they're doing something right since there are other food options in town yet people are still willing to wait to...

If you haven't been here, you are definitely sleeping on a gem.. why your restaurant isn't 5 stars 😕 I couldn't figure it out.. New to restaurant on my way through for work. Stopped at hotel & found out all restaurants were closing soon. I called for delivery at last minute to my hotel, it wasn't a problem! Unbelievable I was shocked to hear this.. I ordered thinking I would be happy to get some what edible food. Delivery man showed within a very reasonable time. I knew from the beginning of opening the packaging that someone took care in preparing my meal & then packaging it with great detail. Food was beyond what I expected.. Nothing but smiles & full bellys. Portions of food were definitely not lacking in size, more than enough. I didn't get to vist inside but I will make sure I swing in next time through. I recently had the pleasure of trying the chicken fried rice from China King in Troy and it was truly awesome. The dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned, with a delightful balance of flavors that left my taste buds dancing with joy. The rice was fluffy and well-cooked, and the chicken was tender and juicy.
