If you're in the mood for "backyard BBQ" flavor from a fast food restaurant, Cook Out should satisfy your craving! My usual order is a Big Double (loaded w/cheese) tray with fries and hushpuppies... and a Coke to wash it all down! I'm giving Cook Out a 4-star for food. Here's why... 1 - Fries (always good) but often soggy. 2 - Burger build/presentation sloppy 3 - Chicken wraps are incredibly good but again, too inconsistent (sometimes overcooked - sometimes comes with a scorched flavor) 4 - Corn dogs - when they're freshly cooked... OMG - AWESOME!! However, I've had a few experiences with overcooked or "waited too long/hard" corn dogs 5 - When you order an extra fries, make sure you check it before you leave. When you double up on a tray they are not generous with the portion size... Make sure you check it to avoid disappointment! Service is a 3-star at best. The crew often lacks communication, especially when you ask for something extra or removed from what they normally do. And always seem rushed to get you in and out of the drive thru or counter. (A little courtesy goes a long way in customer service) - and put the damn phones down... you're performing a job not socializing or checking your Facebook, IG, and TikTok! The atmosphere in the dining room is a 4-star. With tall walls/dividers, you can have better privacy but if you want a quiet, uninterrupted meal, get it to go and take it home. Even with all of this, I'm still giving the Cook Out at 4487 Hugh Howell in Tucker a 3-Star rating... There's just nothing quite like a meal from Cook Out.

Really sucks when your just trying to get a bite otw home just to find out it's not what you ordered. Who ever the on duty manager was when I called never even ask me what I ordered or even what my name was I do find that to show me the lack of concern of my issue. My diner tonight was ruined and im forced to spend more money to drive back 30 mins in traffic, cook at home or go buy something else. As it may only be $6.00 just turned into 12-20 it will cost me more then $6.00 in gas to make a return to the location being it is not in my normal route I travel everyday. So I am never eating at this franchise again, as this time Akira the drive thru cashier did not pay attention to details of my order and When I ask her to remove the slaw from my sandwich which she repeated to me on the loud speaker and still messed up my order. As store policy they can't refund me over the phone. . . .

During my recent visit I requested a copy of my receipt. The young girl at the drive-thru window chuckled and explained that I already have it. When I requested my receipt, I meant the receipt showing how much I paid and with what method I paid. What she misconstrued is the order receipt. This does not show any of my information, only what she input per my order. Also, it seems that when we decided to order Cook Out, about 4 others decided to do the same and entered the drive-thru line. Prior to all of us getting in line, there were no other vehicles. However, it took approximately 20 minutes to get a hotdog, large fries, and pineapple shake. Although we love the shakes there, we may have to return to the locations we are more familiar with, those offering better customer service.

I made a purchase on May 4 2019 between 5 and 6pm. Bought 2 milkshakes one Oreo and one m&m and the Oreo milkshake had an onion in it. I am very worried that asking for extra is why my friends milkshake that I paid for had an onion at the bottom. And that if employees are willing to put onions in my milkshake that I paid money for what else are they putting in the food when a customer ask for extra. I literally get the same thing every time I come and this cookout is very close to where I live and convenient since it’s less then a mile away. I come very often sometimes 3 times in a day I live right up the street (I don’t cook ) and every single time I come there and have an issue it’s the same girl she even tried to charge me the price of a milkshake just to get extra. I am always polite and I usually don’t complain when my order is wrong but an onion in the milkshake. I won’t be coming back for fear that other things will be put in my food if she is there. I usually go at night and have no issues but during the day during her shifts I won’t be back.

I decided to go back today between 9:25-9:30pm on October 18th. I ordered an Oreo milkshake and asked for extra Oreos on the top. Just on the top no where else. The lovely young lady at the register was very sweet and understanding when I asked her to put more on the top for me. The man making the milkshakes however was disgusting. I am assuming he thought that I didn’t hear him but I did. When the young lady asked him to throw a little more on top he said he had already added extra to the milkshake. She told him that I wanted it on top and then he proceeded to tell her that people be wanting too damn much. For me this was my final straw. I won’t be coming back at all ever again. It is very disparaging and disappointing to see the difference in service that I receive when I ask for extra of any topping on top. The reaction I received today makes me not want to ever go to any cookout ever again as long as I live. I think it’s best to either train the employees better or just make sure that window is always closed when not interacting with customers. That way when an employee decides they want to bad mouth a customer the customer who is paying money 💵 won’t hear. What’s worse is I pay money just like everyone else and I rarely ever complain when my order is wrong and it has been wrong many times at this location and I have been understanding because it was always new people in the past. But this is something I can not over look. The cookout does not value its customers in the slightest. When I pay money for something I expect what I paid money for. What I don’t expect is an employee to have the audacity to say that I am wanting...

7/23/2025 (6:54pm) : Service was horrible and aggressive. I asked for a tray. The female African American cashier with purple highlights tried to up charge me twice by putting add-ons to my burger that I didn’t ask for. When I got to the window and asked why it was almost $10 for the tray she said it was because I wanted tomato and cheese. When I politely asked her to take the tomato off she started to get attitudish and said “it’s only a couple cents” and she couldn’t take it off at that point which didn’t make any sense to me because I hadn’t paid yet only for a young male cashier to come up behind her, take over the exchange, and remove it from my order easily. So she tried to lie and say she couldn’t do something she was obviously too incompetent to do. A second woman also African American with blonde hair then comes around the corner to hand him my food to which the male cashier says “He wanted his tomato off.” she pauses, sucks her teeth and replies loudly “They food already made.” while handing him the bag and walking back around the corner to avoid confrontation like a scary girl who couldn’t say it to me directly. So he hands me the bag and assures me I that I wasn’t charged for the tomato. I pull off and realize they forgot my drink. I return 4 mins later I ask for the drink and instead of giving me the courtesy of a fresh sprite he gives me the one that had jus be sitting there. When I ask him has the drink been sitting there and he says “Yeah but it’s the drink from an order someone left behind not too long ago” not even connecting the dots that it’s me. At this point it became clear to me why these people were working at cookout so I drove off not trusting them to even remake my burger or my drink because they gave the energy of people you shouldn’t trust with your food. Genuinely am hoping to get in touch with management and will follow up once I do but if any of them was the manager I pity...

Horrible!! I felt RUSHED being it was my first time eating there. They kept asking me if I was ready at the drive thru when the menu has a 100 things on it. I had a bad experience and have been waiting for a manager to contact me about my situation but no one has. Anyway I was excited about trying something new in my area. Ive heard people speaking about how good they are. The menu is full so mu decision wasnt easy. So finally I decided to go with something simple for that day and if good would come back. I went with the "walking taco" sounded good. With real Doritos with sour cream something else and shredded cheese but I wanted melted. I got home and dove into the bag which didnt look delightful at all. The cheese had leaked out of the bag making it look disgusting. Anyway the bag was supposed to be closed with a little piece of tape but since it was drowned in melted cheese it was open. I opened it more and stirred up all the ingredients. After all that it looked a little bit good. Took my first bite and a taste I had never tasted before came out. It was good. So I took another bite. Omg! That sour cream. My third bite I took, something hit my lip. Grabbed it and it was the LONGEST PIECE OF HAIR THAT I HAD EVER SEEN BEFORE!!! I GAGGED FOR 2 DAYS thinking about it. I quickly threw the whole bag away. I have never been so DISGUSTED in my life. They dont wear hair nets for HYGIENE protection. NO ONE IN THE BUILDING HAD ON A HAIR NET!. I tried calling the store but ALL "COOK OUT" restaurants have the same 1800 number which is RIDICULOUS for a company like this. Finally after 48hrs CUSTOMER SERVICE finally answered. They gave me the phone number to the store and not one person has contacted me. This lets me know...
