I would like to think of myself as a boba connoisseur, I’ve been to many different boba shops in many different locations around the US. With that being said this shop had to be the absolute worst I had ever been to. The boba was stale and very hard, it was not the soft melt in your mouth boba that I look for at all. The drink flavors were very basic, (i.e. basic fruit flavors) they didn’t even offer Thai tea. The only flavor that remotely resembled a boba tea place was the milk tea. They also had these “mochi donuts” that really just tasted like unsweet pancakes, very bland and no sweetness at all. I doubt they even use mochi flour in them, they were not the consistency normal mochi pastries are at all. The inside decor was well there was no inside decor it was just white walls, not very inviting at all, there was also a very strong smell throughout the place similar to that of cat urine. The customer service was the only thing good...
Read moreFinally, I went here to see what the fuss was. I saw a lot of people complaining about the donuts and price and, well......I get it now. The "donuts" are not, well, donuts. They are not fried but appeared to be made from a waffle maker style device. The texture was almost like a partially cooked pancake. And there was pretty much no flavor. Size wise, they are about the size of a child's bracelet. And for 2.50 each you would expect a lot more taste. The tea they sell is unfortunately as mediocre as the fauxnuts. Very syrupy tasting. The Boba pearls tasted old. But the popping pearls were surprisingly good and an interesting twist. Ultimately, this is a pass and will continue patron places like ding tea or ni Hao tea. Cool, little trinkets are sold here as well. Not a strong reason to come back. Service was good, nothing to write home about. And the...
Read moreSeveral things that could use improvement would be:
I had the taro flavor milk tea. The regular boba was a bit stale in the center. So I’m not sure if there’s a flaw in the cooking/prep of them. They should be uniformly soft(usually still warm when done right) all the way through when put in the drink.
They also do not put enough boba in the drink.
The type of non-dairy milk should be specified and/or choices should be presented since some people have nut allergies and can’t have certain non-dairy milk.
The shop itself was completely bare(blank walls) and had no decor. It should feel more welcoming and a place where you’d actually want to sit in to enjoy your boba tea drinks.
Hopefully they make some changes to rival the other really good boba tea shops closer to in-town. If I feel motivated enough to try it again, then I...
