We had the Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken, House Fried Rice, and the Sampler platter (crab cakes, chicken skewers, egg rolls, and shrimp). To the positive, everything was hot, fast, and generous quantities. Now, the reason for the low score. We sample the same items at restaurants all over to get an equitable standard. Never have we got Mongolian beef with green pepper. This is unfortunate because green pepper has a distinct flavor that just destroyed the unique flavor blend associated with the Mongolian variety. Imagine a fusion of beef and peppers and Mongolian beef. Mmm....No. A real dissapointment. My beautiful bride was impressed with the egg rolls, which are often a greasy mess, were excellent and crispy here. The mixed fried rice was full of shrimp, chicken, and huge chunks of egg. Very good. Some notes about amenities. If you eat in, know that this establishment uses plastic forks, which are a challenge for the crisp items such as the Sesame Chicken. Also, plastic forks are the only utensil available to serve up your food from the fine serving bowls....Styrofoam take-out trays. We were less than impressed. It's budget all the way. Enjoy the food...but bring your own serving spoons...
Read moreThis place is a rip off! They run out of broccoli & leave it out & you get home & find out. Tried to communicate with them & was told on phone they had to check with the owner then blown off. I went in person & confronted her calmly. She granted a replacement order ok thanks good job. I was told I couldn't get my receipt as their computerized register wasn't working. There is junk all over the inside piled up high, it looks like their dining room is part import shipping area for junky stuff from China only fools buy. They need to clean it up inside. I went back few times. Tried to get lunch special on sunday she refused & wouldnt give a reciept that showed what 3 items cost me. I look in her menu there is a 3 item combo for exactly what I got for $6.00 less that was beef when I got less costly chicken. I ask her why I was over charged & she makes a scene bickering with me, refunds my order so I leave upset yet again. I DIDNT LEARN MY LESSON DONT GO HERE. HAPPY WOK is not happy should be called...
Read moreThe four star rating isn’t earned here. I ordered two appetizers and three mains. The egg rolls were not good, tons of wrapper almost no filling and they were quite dry on the inside. The crab wontons were just cream cheese, no crab at all. The Szechuan chicken was just so-so, they even sold it as spicy, but there was no heat to it. The twice cooked pork was literally twice cooked, too dry to eat. Finally the chicken fried rice, it was a very good attempt especially with the red onions and tender chicken but there was no flavor to the dish, just very bland. This looks like it used to be a full service restaurant but once you walk in you see only a handful of operational tables. No table service to speak of. All dishes are served in styrofoam regardless if they’re takeout or dine in. In closing the food wasn’t bad, it just isn’t good either. As for the ambiance, I’m not sure what they’re going for...
