Upon entering Brucha, I was immediately impressed. The soft lighting and the earthy tones of the walls and furniture give it a cozy ambiance for studying, work, or visiting with friends. I have a deep love for tea, one of my favorite types being Oolong, so needless to say I was happy to find multiple options of Oolong on their menu. I went with the Iron Goddess with Whole Milk, Tapioca Pearls and 0% sweetness.
Who rung me up was very sweet and as I speak more softly, they read back my order as to ensure they heard it right. I was there with my friend and so the wait time didn't feel long at all, and considering they are made to order and fresh, it was of no concern.
At first sip I knew that this has become one of my favorite boba spots. The way the milk makes the flavor of the tea bloom due to its rich extraction is simply dreamy. Also the tapioca pearls were cooked wonderfully, and as my friend stated, "it is like having fresh pasta compared to dried pasta." The chew is still there but it has this softness that only fresh tapioca can bring which is so so wonderful. You truly cannot beat it for the price, as neighborhood boba spots charge for milk alternatives (including if you want to opt out of non-dairy creamer) or toppings. Needless to say I am looking forward to my next visit! I'll have to try the other Oolong teas.
You really don't need added sweetness if you truly want to taste the richness and full body of the tea, not to mention boba are in their sugar syrup so sweetness comes from that and the milk of choice.
And not to mention they have Hojicha, an excellent earthy, nutty Japanese tea which is a first I've seen as an offering at a boba spot!
Happy to have you in Tucson,...
Read moreMatcha quality is very good, however the fact that you cannot adjust the ice level, customize your drink to your liking, sometimes they don’t fill up the cups all the way, and the price is a bit high for the amount of matcha you are getting is not good. We ordered a matcha and got 90% ice, so naturally we asked if we can buy another matcha with no ice, and got told they don’t sell matcha without the ice, because hot matcha would taste bad(when hot matcha is literally a thing lol) next i wanted to add strawberry bits and was told i couldn’t order it that way,(we got that done another day, but today it was a different crew and they weren’t willing to do that for us) they were being unprofessional about it by making faces when we asked to add strawberry bits to the matcha, the lady at the counter then proceeded to ask us who the barista that made us the customized matcha looked like, which was weird. She explained to us that they had hired new people recently and that they most likely didn’t know that they weren’t allowed to customize drinks, in this instance the drink was customized to the client’s preference which in my opinion is what you want to do as a successful business. (The matcha in the picture is a strawberry matcha but I didn’t want the syrup in it, just the bits and they gave me the matcha latte with...
Read moreUpon entering the space, Brucha showed extreme promise. The environment was calming and professionally decorated to create a luxurious cafe atmosphere. The cleanliness stood out from any other bubble tea spots, even the restroom was spotless.
The care showed by the workers when brewing their tea was impressive as well as their dedication to great customer service. The worker called Luke took our order and helped us find the most suitable drink amongst their selection.
I don’t typically leave reviews, but the quality of their drinks really stood out to me; We ordered the matcha latte, the Brucha milk tea, honey-lemon spring tea and the Strawberry hojichs. What I can say is that as a person who generally does not order matcha for its overly grassy/bitter/syrup-y taste, their matcha was very refreshing; an extremely vibrant green, slightly sweet with minimal bitterness. Overall very enjoyable. The three other drinks were equally, if not more amazing. It’s typically pretty difficult nowadays to find a bubble tea store where you can taste the flavours of tea, and Brucha really nailed down the harmonization of sweetness/fruitiness/creaminess.
For those who truly care about the quality of their tea drinks, the price honestly won’t matter for what you’re getting, both in drinks and in...
