My first visit to Buendia Breakfast & Lunch Café was an absolute delight from start to finish. It's not often that you find a place that excels in all aspects of the dining experience, but this little gem managed to do just that.

As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted by the warmest smiles from the waitresses. Their friendliness and genuine enthusiasm made me feel right at home. The atmosphere of the café was equally inviting and comfortable. With its unique décor that beautifully blended Mexican heritage with modern flair, it was evident that the owners had put a lot of love and thought into creating a welcoming space for their guests.

Now, let's talk about the food! Oh, the food was nothing short of fantastic. Each dish on the menu seemed to be crafted with care and attention to detail. I was blown away by the explosion of flavors. The ingredients were fresh, the portions were generous, and the presentation was impeccable. I couldn't help but savor every single bite.

One aspect that pleasantly surprised me was the affordability of the dishes. Despite the top-notch quality, the prices were very reasonable, making it an excellent value for money. This factor truly set Buendia Breakfast & Lunch Café apart from other eateries in town.

The entire experience left my friends and I eagerly looking forward to our next visit. The delicious food, the friendly waitresses, the cozy atmosphere, and the pocket-friendly prices combine to create a perfect package. I can confidently say that Buendia Breakfast & Lunch Café has become my go-to place for a delightful Mexican breakfast and lunch.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by Buendia Breakfast & Lunch Café to experience the magic for yourself. Your taste buds and your wallet will thank you! I, for one, can't wait to return for another...

A Taste of Authentic Joy at Buendia!

Buendia is an absolute gem, a five-star experience that transcends the ordinary breakfast. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warmth that feels like coming home. The cozy, colorful atmosphere and the genuine smiles from the staff instantly set the stage for a memorable meal. Don't be surprised to find a unique shaker on your table labeled "alegría" (joy) – a perfect metaphor for the entire experience.

I started with the Cafe de Olla, and it was pure bliss in a mug. The subtle sweetness of the piloncillo and the warm fragrance of cinnamon were the perfect beginning to a delightful culinary journey.

The Buendia Breakfast Poblano is a must-try and a true standout. The poblano pepper was roasted to perfection, tender with a slight smoky char. But the magic is inside: a savory green corn tamale stuffing that is both unique and incredibly flavorful. The dish is bathed in a vibrant, rich green sauce that is simply divine. Every bite was a perfect harmony of flavors and textures.

I also had the pleasure of trying the Mexican Chorizo Molletes. This is the ultimate comfort food, elevated to a whole new level. The bolillo bread was perfectly toasted, providing a satisfying crunch that gave way to creamy refried beans, savory and perfectly seasoned chorizo, and a generous layer of melted cheese. It was a delicious and hearty dish that I would order again in a heartbeat.

Buendia is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where you can taste the love and passion that goes into every dish. The friendly service, the authentic and incredibly flavorful food, and the overall joyful ambiance make it a top-tier breakfast destination. I'm already planning...

Came in for brunch and the place was packed, but we decided to wait it out given we live on the SE side and wanted to try this place out. I will say that they move the tables relatively quick -- with an efficient kitchen so even if there are a ton of people waiting in front of you don't let it dissuade you. The dining room is small, but decorated so cute. The staff super friendly and sweet.

We were seated and quickly knew what we wanted. I of course, ordered the Chilaquilas... you know being an expert in them and all. My hubs ordered the Huevos Divorciados. They do their breakfast well here. I am going to say that I was NOT a big fan of the Chilaquilas. I know you will see the other reviews raving about them BUT being someone who literally does nothing but try them on every menu and someone who has eaten some of the best Chilaquilas made by my sister-in-laws from scratch with Hatch red chile (or green)... these were a 4-5/10. The flavor of the sauce was GREAT, do not get me wrong. What I did not like was it seemed like they literally just poured the sauce over some chips? That is not how you make Chilaquilas and if this is how you have been eating them, then I can't wait for the day you actually are served up some true traditional version of them. If you actually look at my photo, you can see what I am talking about.

Okay so enough about my Chilaquilas critique and their not knowing how to make them. The flavor of the food outside of that was great. Service fantastic. Atmosphere was wonderful. I would totally come back BUT order something else...

This was my second visit, On my first visit I had the apple topped pancakes and cinnamon coffee. The meal was tasty. The complimentary salsa and chips are very good. On my second visit I again had the cinnamon coffee, which is kissed with the perfect amount of cinnamon and slightly sweet served in a generous sized cup, with a tiny pot of cream and maria cookies. it's worth the price. My husband had the Machaca with eggs and said the food was okay. I had the breakfast poblano stuffed with a corn tamale and white cheese (Monterey jack?) on a bed of rice. The presentation was perfect, the poblano was beautiful, unfortunately the rice was bland, the cheese was rubbery, the corn masa tamale was dry. The green cream sauce was nice but there wasn't enough to overcome the blandness of the dish. Both meals came with a delightful cup of refried beans with a bit of white cheese on top. Again the presentation was spot on but the beans had that telltale canned bean taste. I will return for the coffee, but probably order it to go.

I would love to highlight the service first, before anything else. They truly make you feel as if you are a guest in their home. When your meal is served, they sprinkle some “ Alegria “ on it for good measure. It’s the little things. Beautifully decorated too. The food: The chilaquiles divorciados were just for me which is why this review gets 4 and now 5 stars. I much preferred the green salsa. The red salsa was not spicy at all and lack flavor in my opinion. The tamal & cheese stuff poblano dish was excellent. Rice was well cooked and paired well with the dish. The eggs were cooked exactly the way we asked. I didn’t care for the beans that accompany the meal. They started us off with some complimentary chips & salsa which is a nice touch too. Overall would be back, eager to try new things. Try to get here as early as possible. We got here at 8:05 just when they opened and we beat the near 45+ min wait that’s usually at this popular local spot.
