I Like El Molinito a lot! I always get the same thing at Mexican Restaurants and that is Tacos. This restaurant has them believe it or not and they make them very well. Thomas the waiter goes above and beyond to serve and he does an excellent job. We frequent this place and always leave happy. Some of the waiters in town would be wise to take notes of Thomas the waiters severing skills. Aside form that, the food is always good and if anything at all goes wrong (which isn't often) they are quick to fix it. Great Food, Great Service, Great Restaurant. What are you waiting for? Get some Mexican food here! I also will say that the enchilada sauce is incredible. As far as enchilada sauce goes it's very good and I have not had better in town. Since I first posted this review I have been eating more enchilada sauce because it is so good. I usually get a cheese enchilada without onion.

Been meaning to leave a review, so here it is - Went here w/friends Sept. 21st for dinner. My entree was mediocre - I had beef fajitas. Honestly, they were not fajitas (usually fajitas are made from flank steak or skirt steak). The beef fajitas here were dry and my plate had very little fajitas and mainly veggies (onions & bell peppers). In addition, their Mexican Rice was not authentic at all!! The meal was not worth $11.99. My friends & I have had fajitas @ Chili’s and they are way better and you get more for your money. I brought up portion size (mostly) veggies w/Tomas, our server, and he in turn, showed me that other Mexican restaurants charge more. He didn’t help me at all. I’m sure those other restaurants have better fajitas. Last time I ever go to Los Molinitos.

The employees are welcoming and friendly, they're very knowledgeable about the different dishes and specials that they offer. The food is delicious, we've tried several dishes here and none of them have disappointed in any way. They offer a wide variety of foods including a good assortment of spice options, so if you're not in too spicy foods you have plenty of options. The menu is laid out in a very clear manner so it's very easy to see if you're avoiding something specific or have dietary restrictions. We return every time we are in town.

My husband and I came to dine about 3pm on a Saturday. There were only 2 other tables of people at that time. The server was friendly and took our order. We got our "usual". I ordered the enchiladas de la casa. They usually come with chicken. I asked for just cheese. As soon as she took our order, she came right out of the kitchen so fast, with our meals. I thought it was so quick, I assumed she brought the wrong meals. She told us what we ordered as she set them in front of us. The sauce on my enchiladas had a greenish-yellowish tint to it. I took the first bite, but had just eaten a hot pepper in the salsa. So I couldn't taste it. I took 2 or 3 more bites before I realised that the sauce was off. I finally realized what it was. It tasted and looked exactly like canned cream of celery soup. I had made a recipe with it not long ago and that is what it had to be. There was nothing else mixed in. I strongly believe they ran out of the casa sauce, so they just threw the cream of celery over the enchiladas and heated it up. It was full of celery pieces, just like the condensed stuff you buy from the grocery store. I sent it back and told the manager what I think it was, but they insisted that it was the exact 'secret' house sauce they have been serving for 60 years. You can't fool me lady! I know what the house sauce tastes like and I know that it was not what you put on my enchiladas! I am mad that they tried to lie about it. They may have denied it, but they know what they did. Shame on you, El Molonito on Pantano. I know that if it was the house sauce that it would have been mixed with sour cream and other ingredients. Also, when you walk into the kitchen and walk right out with 2 entire dinners in less than a minute, you are not serving fresh food, you are sending out reheated leftovers. It is not quality food. This place used to be amazing. I had been coming to the various El Molonitos since 2007. Never again. The qualtity of food is atrocious. Thankfully Tucson has no shortage of good quality Mexican food. This is just not one of them. They didn't charge us for my meal that I sent back. I did not order anything else. My husband's food was hot on the outside and cold in the middle, so he didn't eat much...

My friend brought me here saying it was his favorite Mexican restaurant in Tucson.

The margaritas came in wine glasses, and weren't that good.

I wasnt that hungry so I ordered a chicken taco. My friend said they had great queso dip, and I had seen "chile con queso" on something on the menu, so I asked for a side of chile con queso for the chips. The waitress looked confused. I said cheese? For the dip? She said "Choriqueso?" And my friend said "yes!" excitedly. He couldn't remember the name of it. He then ordered a sampler plate, ground beef on the taco.

The food comes, and the "choriqueso" was literally a small bowl of microwaved shredded cheese, sitting in a pool of its own grease. Nothing else in it. The bowl was sitting on a plate because the bowl was too hot to carry because they defitinely microwaved it. I wish I were exaggerating. My taco, the outside of it, was covered in lettuce and cheese. I moved the lettuce around and the taco was FULL of shredded chicken. There was no room for lettuce, that's why it was all over the outside of it and on the plate.

My friend's one taco was shredded beef, not ground.

I take some chicken out so I can put in some lettuce and cheese in, take a bite, and the chicken had been boiled, shredded, then reheated for my taco. Zero seasoning, and dry. I set it down and didn't touch it again.

The waitress came back and I ordered a side of refried beans for the chips.

My friend takes a bite of his taco, and without chewing spits it out. He said to try the beef because it was unbelievabley disgusting. I took a small sliver of it, and it tasted like wet jerky.

I looked at his refried beans, and on the edge of it is the same melted shredded cheese that was sitting in the bowl, with what looked like slices of canned green chiles underneath. "Chile con queso."

My friend ate his mini chimichangas, took my taco, broke it apart, scooped some melted shredded cheese from the "choriqueso," dumped sour cream and the spicy salsa all over it and made it a taco salad out of my taco.

The refried beans and the salsa was the best thing on the table. The absolute worst food I have ever had a sit down resteraunt, by far. Completely baffled everything could be...

My spouse and I frequent El Molinito often. It is actually one of our favorite places to eat. Never had a bad experience until last night. We were seated right away, which was great as they were busy. Chips and salsa came out right away. Waited 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken. Our waiter came over, we ordered our drinks and food all at once. Watched other people get their food, while we still waited. Mind you, those orders were taken after ours. Our waiter came over, apologized, said he thinks they lost our ticket. Took our order again, and put a rush on it. We ordered a taco salad no onions, tomatoes or guacamole, and cheese enchiladas no onions with rice. Good came out, taco salad was as it should be. No rice came with my enchiladas and the cheese was not melted. Called the waiter over, expressed that I ordered rice and the cheese was not melted in the enchiladas. He apologized and took it to the kitchen to be fixed. It came back out, cheese melted. All seemed to be good. Took a bite, and there were onions in it. At this point we had been there for about an hour and I had one bite of my food. Look for my waiter and let him know that the order was not right again, it had onions. Requested if they remake it again to please make it to go as we were ready to go at this point. He apologized. Also, it was not his fault as he does not work in the kitchen. They made my order for a 3rd time, put it in a to go container and we received the check. Now, we did not ask for a discount, and the waiter apologized, but, no manager came over to apologize, no discounts were offered for the mistakes. Mind you, I don't expect free things, but usually when something like this happens, they try to make it right. Not last night. Again, I have never had a bad experience until last night and have been going here for years. I still have not eaten my food as by the time we left and waited I was no longer hungry. I do hope that if we return in the future, the experience is what we are used to, and not what...
