We had Dulce and sat on the patio. This was our first time at the Kolb location in over a decade as we had a gift card for this location (not near our house). We liked the patio very much. Also, it was nice to have an option for a heater lamp. The table side salsa was delicious but the portion wasn’t what we typically get at Guadalajara the original on Prince (they always fill the bowl to the rim no matter if only one person or more). The chips were exceptional. I prefer green chilis on a cheese crisp, so would go to the original for salsa and cheese crisp) and would recommend adding that as an option as well as the jalapeños (I didn’t enjoy that as much). The shredded beef chimichanga enchilada style was better than the Prince location. So we’ll definitely return for the chimichanga! The guacamole was fresh and they added tomatoes. The original adds cheese that makes it extra special, but we weren’t offered it, and I guess assumed it was in it, but it wasn’t. That’s another thing that you may want to offer in it. Nonetheless, it was amazing and more food than we could eat and took most of it home for a 2nd meal! This is a place where you can easily share. We shared a house margarita for Happy Hour and it was huge! We could barely finish it and such a decent price for it! Definitely recommend this location, the staff, and food to those who want a wonderful dining experience!

We’ve been recommended this spot by many and were pleasantly surprised. It feels like the commercial Mexican places we’re used to (just moved from Florida) but the food and margaritas felt like quality ones! I’m a margarita lover and any time they come in this big glass they usually taste fake (IYKYK). I ordered the jalapeño cucumber with tajin rim and enjoyed how fresh and not acidic it tasted. Even my heartburn-prone husband commented at how balanced it was. The pork and steak we had were perfectly cooked, so soft and tender. It paired great with the refried beans and rice. The tableside guac was also good and not just another gimmic. Very flavorful avocados. The salsa was also very tasty and the tableside aspect made it fun. Alonso was an awesome server. Very attentive and quick. Happy to have him and will definitely be back. Visited again 3/2024 and had a great experience again. Ordered the chori-carne asada which was tender and delicious. Good sized plate as usual. The carnitas tapatias were also good though could benefit from a bit of salt. Our server Cecilio was awesome, and the table side salsa was delicious.

The positive points: the chips with the table side salsa and guacamole were really nice and helped for a while with the wait for the food, and the server with the salsa cart was very responsive when we asked for water and more chips. We thought for a while that she was our actual waitress. When we got our drinks and food, there were a few errors, but the food itself was all very good (Plato Bandera, fish tacos, kids quesadilla combo, two California burritos, and a Chile relleno combo). The decorations are nice, and there's an outdoor seating area that looked nice. The negatives: it was oddly warm, which wasn't a huge issue. It was not very full at all, but the service was some of the worst I've ever had anywhere. We had to try to flag the waitress down (once we figured out who our actual waitress even was) and prompt her for basic things (Could we order? Could we have our empty water glasses refilled? Will the food be coming soon? Could we get the bill?). A couple things she didn't write down then would forget and have to come back and ask what they were again. We were laughing because we'd originally come here after leaving two other restaurants down the street that told us it would be an hour and half wait, and we were too impatient and hungry to wait, but we would have gotten our food around the same time if we'd stayed at the first restaurant. By the time we did get the food, a couple plates weren't hot to the touch anymore, and there were a few errors with the food itself. The kids meal we ordered with a quesadilla and rice and beans had fries instead of rice and beans. The California burritos (meat, fries, cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream in a tortilla) didn't have pico de gallo, guacamole, or sour cream. Literally half the ingredients of the burritos were missing. Those mistakes were quickly and easily resolved though. We left our leftovers because we didn't want to stay any longer for boxes (saying a lot for cheap fat people who usually never waste food). We were there for a birthday, but we didn't even attempt to see if there was a special ritual or a dessert menu because we'd been there so long already, which kind of sucked for a birthday dinner.

I don't think this restaurant should be rated as highly as it is. Part of me believes it is this way because at the end of your meal they ask you to scan the QR code which leads you to leave a review for the restaurant. However, seeing 17,000 reviews with a 4.7 star rating got me to go to the restaurant thinking this would be the world's greatest Mexican restaurant I've ever had, so I don't blame them for doing this. It works and I'm proof of that! The food wasn't bad or anything and I would give it a 3/5 but it is no where near a 5/5 in my opinion like majority of people in these reviews are saying. There's even people saying they've traveled across the world and this is the best Mexican they've had. My taste buds must be dead, because when I had my meal (steak chimichanga) it was decent but lacked in flavor quite a lot. In fact the only true flavor I got was from the rice, which was the best part of the meal. There was red Chile on my chimichanga and I didn't even taste it. So please take these 17,000 reviews with a grain of salt and realize you'll probably get an average Mexican restaurant meal, but in no way do I believe this will be the life altering experience other people claim it to be.

Tyler was one of only 3 people on duty as two others had called out sick and he initially apologized and gave us a heads up to ask anyone we see in case he was in the weeds. 8 thought that was smart to set the expectations as he felt other he wouldn't be able to give the kind of service he normally would, but honestly I've been in the business and he was actually very kind and attentive and I never would have known. They make table side fresh salsa and guacamole which you can ask for specific ingredients and ours was perfectly delicious. 😋 We tipped her a few dollars as well, so bring some cash. 😉The guac is charged as an appetizer not you get one salsa for free and additional is 6.45, I believe. Both are a large portion. We ordered the appetizer quesadillas birria tacos and they were freaking amazing. We had driven down to get our passports and we're immediately thinking man when can we come back. Tyler was a great server and very knowledgeable and kind. 5 Stars, wish we were hungrier so we could have tried more things but what we had was delish. Go here and enjoy.

We went as a table of six and made reservations. We got sat right away but the table was probably better suited for 4 people rather than 6 but it still wasn't terrible. It took a while for anyone to come over and the table side salsa lady was the first. That's not a bad thing having the salsa first, after a little bit the waiter came over and got our drink order and when he came back took our food order. We did ask for more salsa but she never came back , but it was fine because we were eating a ton of chips. Our food came out in a decent amount of time and all together which is always a plus. My tacos were very bland and not flavorful at all, the rice was good though. My wife's food was just a bit more flavorful then mine but that's not saying much. Everyone else had a decent experience as well but I don't think anyone will be rushing back. Maybe it was just a busy Friday but non the less we will check out others first before returning.
