First time visitor.
Despite living nearby long before this establishment ever opened, it's always crowded and exhibits long lines so I've previously avoided visiting this establishment. Upon arrival it's incredibly difficult not to notice that the building exterior and grounds are all well maintained and are free of any noticable issues. Warmly welcomed upon entry by the friendly and highly professional staff. Employee enthusiasm seems to be unchecked and limitless at this establishment. Ordering is deliberately limited to only a few items. Our order was taken with minimal effort and lag time from order placement to order presentation was noticably brief. My table companions agreed that our food arrived hot fresh and delicious. All of our meals arrived as ordered and free of any failure to follow simple instructions issues. Our numerous orders of fries arrived piping hot and only needed consumed. We encountered friendly, highly professional and dedicated staff who cheerfully excelled in fulfilling orders with excellent food that really seemed to hit the spot and satisfy. Would gladly revisit. I can highly recommend visiting this...
Read moreOn the one hand, I appreciate In-N-Out's dedication in using quality ingredients and paying their staff competitively.
On the other hand, their burgers are a mess.
The sauce is runny and seeps into the bun, making for a slippery, messy, and altogether hygienically unpleasant experience. Nor does the flavor redeem it, as I found my burgers to be a tad bland, all crunch with little beneath it. I don't know if that's because there's something wrong with me or because I was too focused on managing the mess to properly enjoy it, but either way, I'm finding these burgers to be rather overrated in my humble opinion. They're just okay.
I suspect their charm is largely psychological, which is absolutely valid. Paying people good wages is great and should be encouraged, as is using fresh, quality ingredients. So I would probably order their burgers again, not because they're better than Carl's Jr. or Wendy's, but because I want to "vote with my wallet," so to speak.
All that being said, I do recommend In-N-Out look for ways to better control their sauce, since I suspect that to be the key flaw holding their...
Read moreI'll tell you why I love this place... because I was born and raised in Southern California. There. We grew up with it, it was the go-to burger standard, hanging out in the parking lot late at night in high school, a location and direction marker for where anything else was, a way station and checkpoint before heading out to other places, parties, events. The food? Simplistic creativity. What can you create, discover, make your own, with a simple menu. You know what it is and what you're working with. For any haters...cool. Go somewhere else. It's. Not. For. You. Check the line any night... numbers don't lie. I'm SURE you can find a better burger, better fries, better shake. I can, and have. Just about anyone can make one. Here's the thing...I'm positive you can't create a standard. A standard by which all other burgers, fries and shakes are judged against. Is it better than, not as good as, similar to....In N Out? There ya go. Make or find that. Chumps. For everyone else...have fun. Enjoy. You're experiencing a 70+ year old industry standard, a taste of the 50's, when simple was...
