I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant since it was located at Park Place Mall, and I've always appreciated the friendly service from the owner, his wife, and staff members Rhonda and Mahdi. Unfortunately, over the past few months, the service has taken a noticeable downturn. If it weren't for the food, I honestly wouldn't come back, which I might not anymore.
Today, however, was the most disappointing experience I’ve had. The restaurant closes at 9 PM, and my family and I arrived at 8 PM, to be told by the waitress that we could only order takeout and not dine in.a ymore. We decided to proceed with a takeout order, but the service was appalling. The waitress was rude and dismissive toward my family and I, and as a woman, I felt completely mistreated. To make matters worse, the order came out wrong, which clearly indicated that the waitress wasn’t paying attention to our requests.
It’s truly disheartening to see a once welcoming place turn into this. There are plenty of Middle Eastern restaurants in town, and if the front-of-house staff continues to treat customers this way, I fear the restaurant won’t last long. It’s important for all customers to be treated with respect and kindness, and for staff to remember that men and women deserve...
Read moreEvery time I walk into this place, I feel like I’m stepping into something special! Something that nourishes more than just hunger.
The food is out of this world!! The flame-grilled baba ganoush is smoky, rich, and layered with flavor. It is literally the best I’ve ever had. The fries are the BEST in all of Tucson! They are crispy, golden, absolutely addictive. And don’t get me started on the veggies that come with it! Fresh, vibrant, perfectly delicious every single time!
But it’s not just the food that keeps me coming back. It’s the feeling. The care in the service. The kindness behind the counter. The way a meal can feel like a warm conversation, even without many words.
The owner, Ray, is a phenomenal person, he is genuine, generous, always attentive. His wife is just as beautiful in spirit as she is in appearance, graceful and so warmhearted. It’s clear that this restaurant is a reflection of them, full of life & love!
And to the one who always made my day brighter without even trying… you made this place more than just a stop in my routine, you made it a moment I looked forward to. Thank you.
This will forever be my favorite spot in Tucson! A place where the food is unforgettable, the people are special, and the energy is...
Read moreRecently the restaurant decided to no longer provide grilled tomatoes or onions with the kebab orders. The decision to not offer this with the meal is a poor decision at the very best. When questioned, the restaurant issued this response, "customers just throw it in the trash". I'm sorry, we pay for it and you charged for it. If that was the actual reason, then reduce the price since you're no longer offering it. We all know that the excuse was to reduce time it takes to prepare and increase profits. If you're trying new places, save your time and money.
Response from owner "Sorry for the inconvenience. grilled veggies has never been on the menu. What is on the main courses, is the fresh veggies and pickles and we always offer this. we never offered the grilled tomatoes or onions..."
I guess my family on several occasions ate imaginary vegetables that were grilled at the restaurant, and your employee told me that you stopped a couple months ago serving those imaginary vegetables we ate because customers just throw them in the trash. I guess we need to set up a food truck to offer fresh grilled tomatoes and onions to support the dry kebab. Hopefully, they bring back what they...
