Ok, speaking honestly... If you've lived in Tucson for any length of time, you've probably been to a Los Betos at one point or another. I will point out that this location is one of the best and most consistent in Tucson. My favorite item on the menu is the Cuban Burrito, which I've turned many of my friends onto over the years. Great location if you want really great breakfast burrito, and fast enough to pick up for teams on the way to work. I'd love to rave about the staff, but they have a busy drive though and just basically get people in and out as efficient as possible. When I worked near there, went probably once a week. Actually drove halfway across town tonight to pick up a couple cuban burritos for my girlfriend and I. She was shocked by one that was "mostly comprised of awesome meat - but had pickles and mustard" ...took some time to get her head around it, but decided it was delicious. Then I explained they also make a Philly cheese steak one. Have yet to try that one, but sure it's amazing! It's a Mexican food drive though, calibrate expectations according, and I'm sure you'll never have a bad meal. I do sometimes go out of my...
Read moreTo who ever made my steak breakfast burrito at los Betos today : May god grant you a long life full of joy and money and it extend to your family for the next 100 years . The burrito was ridiculously good. I was expecting just an average drive thru burrito nothing special just something to stop the hunger grumbles . I took a bite and was rewinded back to my childhood . There was just enough potatoes to balance the seasoned steak , eggs, and it was salty from the cheese but not overly salty all wrapped in the warm huge flour tortilla. The red salsa was generic for these kinda places but it did have some heat which I appreciate. The packet it came in I was not the biggest fan off because it was hard to open .
The girl at the window was super super nice and very helpful and when I asked her for extra salsa she actually gave me extra salsa ( May you also get 100 years of happiness and riches ). I went thru the drive thru and was in and out within 5 minutes with 2 cars in front of me . Definitely one of the best locations of drive thru fast food...
Read moreI really like Losbetos and I come here frequently.
They recently changed how their salsa is packaged however and it is almost unusable. Instead of the little plastic cups (you know the ones that literally every Mexican restaurant uses) they started putting their salsa in tiny bags. There's no good way to open them, no good way to hold them, and they make an enormous mess no matter what you do.
Management needs to fix this! It's really bad and is encouraging me to find a new Mexican spot nearby.
Response to management's reply: thanks so much for reaching out! Your reply makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately, as I'm sure you're aware, the packets don't stand up on their own, and while ketchup is a paste your salsa is more of a liquid, so when you set the packets down they usually spill and make a mess. I will just hope you can get enough employees to change it back at some...
