Overall adequate. Was not able to choose a room from the app ahead of time and arrived to find the hotel almost full.|My Marriott status was ignored. I asked for a quiet room and was given a room directly across from the elevator on the 3rd floor. I immediately went downstairs to ask for a different room and was offered a choice of the second floor or the first floor after I was asked if I had entered the other room and done anything to it even though I had been gone for less than 3 minutes. This was very offputting to me as a guest.||The room itself is fine. A deep cleaning is needed. If you go to grab a cabinet, you can feel grime. Was able to run a fan all night for white noise.||It is toward the end of the hall which is good. Unfortunately, the people above me appear to be engaging in a gymnastics contest.||Let's hope I'm able to get at least a few hours of sleep before my early flight.||Got a decent amount of sleep but the morning was not good. I had asked the night before about the shuttle to the airport and was told to come down when I was ready as they have to call them and if they arrive and I am not there waiting, they will leave. I went down and could not find anyone - I called out at the front desk several times and even went into the breakfast area to look but could not find anyone working. I waited a few minutes and then called the hotel on the phone and someone appeared from the back room behind the front desk to answer the phone. He was kind enough and called for the shuttle right away - he said that it would be two or three minutes at the most so I stood there waiting... and waiting... after ten minutes I had to ring the bell to get back in to the hotel and he called them again - they did not answer at first so he kept calling. Turns out that the shuttle had been full and the driver was again on his way. I actually left the hotel 22 minutes after I came downstairs - good thing that I allowed a lot of time. The shuttle was scary - the driver stopped at an intersection to answer a text, delaying our ride by a few more minutes. There was a large box begging for tips - I found this to be tacky. |I understand that the hotel is using a third party service for the shuttle but it needs some work - if they had told me the night before to allow a half hour, I would have been prepared but that was not communicated to me. My entire reason for staying overnight was to get more sleep - and to not be rushed in the morning. Other airport hotels seem to have a better system of getting guests to the airport within ten minutes or less.|This stay was not awful, but I think that I will keep looking for a better airport hotel.|One final note that will have me 90% looking elsewhere. There was hate blasting on the television in the lobby and there was no way to change the channel or turn it down or off. I think that guests should have a choice about what they are exposed to, especially first thing in the morning...

Read moreMy stay was a weekend layover between stages ofa business trip. Chose TPS because (1) Marriott family, and (2) proximity to Pima which was my weekend guilty pleasure. Free parking, free internet, free breakfast, shuttle and proximity to TUC airport were all secondary considerations. . Hotel was easy to see but a bit harder to find. Colony Bay looks more like a commercial drive-way from Valencia. Went around the block and problem solved. . Entrance way pleasant enough. reception area nice and open too. Patio and pool area exceeded expectations, very nice. Unlike many hotels, the wide, carpeted and well lit stairways are appreciated. . Kitchen style room wasn't needed for this short stay, just kept a bottle of water in the fridge. I do prefer to have ceramic mugs for water glasses (especially in the bathroom) so that in case of breakage, less risk to all compared to clear glass. . Bed, pillow, comforter in a word comfy. Charging outlets beside bed-side tables a great innovation. . Roll-out table and ottoman are useful for work and luggage. Swinging TV was useful for various vantage spots. Task lighting on desk was better than most. Also the shelves above were useful to stow all those magazines and placards found in the average room. . The bath was a bit smaller than most, ok for one. A pocket door would have made the space more efficient (mirror behind the door for example). lighting was adequate. Shower worked well. toilet worked well too. The small shelf above the vanity was useful. Missed somewhere to hang wet towels. Maybe they could add a night-light? I tend to bring my own but some places have them built into the hairdryer or just plugged in. Having said that, i do not use hairdryers and sometimes they hang there with cords dangling onto the vanity just messing the place up, didn't have that problem here. . The closet storage shelves seem to be a 'product placement', well enough, but i don't interpret those wire racks as something i would aspire to in my home - just saying. . Staff were bright and cheerful, welcoming and willing to point me (and others) toward restaurants, attractions and explain things like the airport shuttle. . One downside of location is there is no dining locally, just several fast-food (ie:...
