I got the full south end experience this time. I've eaten here before but it's been years since I worked out of the airport and was in the neighborhood on a regular basis. I had to drop my wife off for a mid day flight and with our crappy Seattle traffic and pathetic traffic planning it would take me more than an hour to get home so I popped in for lunch. Say what you want to about KFC vs other options but it's usually pretty consistent and so long as the gravy isn't too watery, I love the potatoes and gravy. The service was friendly and helpful and the food was solid for this visit. The restaurant was pretty clean save for some sticky spots on the floor near the soda machine. the other patrons were older people enjoying their mid day meal and of course, there was someone at the counter loudly complaining that his meal was served to him cold while I was trying to eat. My meal was just fine so I'm not sure how that could have happened. To cap the experience off, I got called a "white boy" on my way to the car in the parking lot. I don't think it was necessarily meant to be offensive, just a colloquial way of addressing someone who looks like me in that part of town. Either way, 10/10 for the full south...
Read moreI've lived in the neighborhood for years, and there are almost always issues with our oder. The only reason we ever go back is due to the fact that we don't own a car. Would rather eat the cheaper chicken 3 blocks down at Saars supermarket, if I'm going to eat chicken. Unfortunately this restaurant is both a KFC and a Taco Bell put together, and there isn't much distinction between the two.
Always always always CHECK your food first if ordering to go. There most likely will either be something missing, or a wrong item. So no shame in rifling through the bag, and making sure they got your order right.
Wendys is right next door, and doesn't have the same food. But they are fresher, cleaner, and cheaper.
Also this KFC/Taco Bell allows all the hoodlums to gather around their premises, so be careful. Not a great neighborhood... especially with business owners like these guys who'd rather turn a blind eye than call the authorities or hire a guard to protect their customers.
Also, lately they have been closing early on even weekends...so call if its after 8pm to make sure...
Read moreSo I went to this KFC for dinner tonight. I ordered ahead so I wouldn't have to wait in line. I get there and sure enough there is a long line in the drive through. So I park at there curbside pick up and call there number for it. They never pick up so I decide to go to the door (another gentleman was already there). We knock and get no response so I go over to the drive through window to let them know we need service. The lady at the window was so rude wouldn't even open the window for us. She then proceeded to tell me if I want service that I needed to go through the drive through I explained that we were in curbside and that the gentleman and I had tried calling she said again that if I wanted service that I needed to go through drive through. The only reason they get a 2 star is because when I asked to talk to the manager he had already over heard the conversation and opened the window immediately apologizing. He brought my order out himself with less than a 5...
