Food is way too mid for how bad the customer service was. I’m born & raised African and i’ve been craving food from back home and coincidentally came across this place on social media and decided to drive 40 mins to give it a try. Now I know African restaurants customer service is usually not the best but this was just terrible. All they had was one teenage boy taking orders, telling the kitchen, packing the orders & serving dine-in customers too. This won’t be a problem if it was at least organized but it wasn’t by any means. They don’t keep tickets to know who ordered what so it’s just the dude going by memory and the debit card reader & that’s not very efficient at all. I remember there was a guy and his son who ordered before me and I left for about an hour to get something else and when i got back my food wasn’t ready and the guy and his son hadn’t gotten theirs either.
You would think that after waiting that long the food would be worth it right? It absolutely wasn’t. Fufu wasn’t actual fufu, it was probably poundo (a granulated quick version of pounded yam, a different starch) at best. The chicken palm nut soup was more like a chicken stew made with palm oil and was really bland. The egusi also was lacking in seasoning. In summary, I was really disappointed that I drove so long for what I got. So if you’re gonna be going from far it’s really...
Read moreI am a little disappointed. I’ve had fufu and egusi so many times so I’m not sure what happened here. Online you advertise what fufu and egusi is supposed to look like and the kind of egusi I’ve had in the past. However today I placed an order with grub hub and it was not what I expected at all. The taste was kind of bland, I can’t really put my finger on what it taste like but it was not the traditional egusi soup. It didn’t even have the yellow color that it normally has. The meat was tender so I will give you guys that. The price was cheaper than other places I’ve tried as well. I’m not sure if the fufu was over cooked or uncooked. It was extremely sticky and hard to swallow. It just kept getting stuck in my throat no matter how small of a piece I ate. Personally I didn’t like it very much and will continue to go to Pass D...
Read moreBeen searching for Fufu in the Seattle area for the past year & finally discovered a place that has it! Tried it for the first time and it was slightly different from what I expected. We ordered the popular chicken palmnut soup, chicken mayo, beef samosa, and beignet.
Love love the seasoning of the stew & mayo chicken! There can be a little wait but I bet there's only one person or so in the back working. So we didn't mind! The food was delicious so I know I'll be back to try other dishes.
I also love this general shared space called Spice Bridge (part of FIN), which supports BIPOC & immigrants start their businesses. Excited to learn about the expansion of this space to accommodate more businesses...
