Figaro's Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Tulare

This place is just awesome! I was staying for 2 days in Hampton Inn. The first day I came here cause it was just a block away from the hotel. It was around 5pm, the place was empty which is never a good sign. But I was hungry and too tired to look for something else and decide to give it a shot. And I hit a bull eye. I ordered their Mexican Cesar salad with chicken. It was really delish: fresh ingredients and decent size. I also had chips with guacamole and side order of black beens. By the way, the place was full by the time I was done. I guess it’s a popular local spot. And I’m not surprised. Very cozy place, friendly staff, decent size portions and very affordable: $8-12 for fresh, tasty meals. The next day I ordered a chicken quesadilla. It was really good too. I tried the 2 taco plate last night for the first time. It was delicious. I had a fish taco and a shrimp one. I had a choice of whole, refried, or black beans. I chose whole....seasoned nicely with maybe a little chorizo. The plate also had rice which wasn't the typical recipe but wonderful nevertheless. Back to the tacos:. fish was packed with 2 filets of grilled cod, cabbage, and a sauce with a salsa on top. The shrimp one was similarly built but without the salsa on top. Positives:. Loved the grilled flavors, portions, and options. Negatives: Too much cabbage. Those tacos were too heavy. Also, due to the added sauce the tortillas became very soggy very quickly. I wasn't able to pick up the second taco, everything fell through the tortillas. Bummer! Anyway, I did enjoy my food and I will try again with less cabbage and sauce...

My family and I come here pretty often. I love the food and I’ve been coming here since the location was on prosperity. The food is great. I love their green salsa, shrimp burritos, salmon salad, and mango salad. Oh and the taquitos are delicious as well, I usually get those for my son. The last time I went we had an unpleasant experience with the person that took our order. Not sure her name but she had colored eyes. She was not friendly at all and I noticed that when she was cleaning a table behind us she was starring at my 1 year old in an evil way. I thought she was going to smile at him or something but she just awkwardly stared while cleaning the table simultaneously. I hope she was just day dreaming. Other than that we will continue to dine...
