Wawa Greek — Restaurant in Tullahoma

Clean and well lit remodel of the old Downtown Cafe.

Greek style gyros, tabouleh, hummus etc, as well as burgers and Philly steak etc.

You order at counter and your food is brought to your table. Orders are served in foam clam-shell boxes even when dining in.

I had a gyro sandwich which was tasty and had a satisfying amount of meat served in a fresh pita.

My wife had the Philly cheesesteak and reported that it was delicious served on a Philly roll with grilled green pepper and onion with melted cheese.

We tried the hummus, which was orange in color and had a slight taste of dill pickle. It was a nice portion for two with a couple pitas cut into bite sizes for dipping.

Prices are in line with today (03/25) and with the generous serving sizes.

I am sure we will return when we get the hankering for...

Maybe the pizzas and burgers are good but the Greek food was like "what if a hibachi takeaway made Greek food?" - a clamshell full of mostly rice with some meat covered in what I was told was tzatziki sauce. The salad was a tiny bit of lettuce, olives, and rancid-smelling cheese. (I am very queasy and my husband has thrown up twice.) The baklava tasted like there was peanut butter in the filling and if it is in fact made with phylo pastry, let's say they're not using it in the standard way. It's not the texture and crumb of usual baklava. The falafel was okay. But any food that you just rent for an hour...

I don’t normally leave reviews on here, but Wawa is so good I had to spread the word. The food was absolutely delicious and so fresh, the portions were perfect, and the price was extremely fair. The Spicy Mixed Plate was absolutely amazing! My wife and I loved it so much we are planning to make this our go-to spot when we want to order out for dinner. I hope more people give Wawa a try because he deserves the business far more than all the corporate chain restaurants Tullahoma has everywhere.
