Braum's Ice Cream & Dairy Store — Restaurant in Tulsa

My husband and I went to Braum’s, yesterday 8/25 at around 6:20 p.m. The girl who served us (didn’t get a name because she had no name tag) was just terrible.

My husband was showing me one of his favorite places to go and I’ve never been so we were decently excited. (I know, fast food, but it was the concept.) After walking the store section, we got was ice cream. There was no line, so we walk up, and begin looking. The girl behind the counter doesn’t seem thrilled, but I thought she’d be at least decent. I ask, “Do you know what the butter brittle tastes like?” And she just says, “No, I don’t,” and rolls her eyes. I was a bit stunned and simply reply, “Oh, okay.” My husband proceeds to order and when I begin, I say, “I’ll try the butter brittle and—“ to which she cuts me off and says, “Well did you want to try it then?” I, again, was stunned by her cutting me off and the sassy response. Based on her earlier response, I thought maybe they didn’t do samples? Anyway, I say, “Oh, sure!” which gets us another eye roll. My husband and I glance at each other to make sure each of us isn’t crazy and it really was as odd of an encounter as we each thought.

I get it—it’s fast food and you may not LOVE your job, but to be straight up rude, rolling your eyes, cutting people off made a terrible first...

On March 7th, around 10:20 PM, we visited this Braum’s, where we have had decent experiences in the past. However, after tonight, I don’t think we will be returning due to the rude and unprofessional behavior of the workers. After ordering through the drive-thru, we arrived at the window, where an African-American girl with red or pink dyed curly hair was working. From the start, we were rudely greeted. When we received our strawberry shortcake, we asked another male worker for a bag. However, when the same girl handed us the bag, she not only gave us a dirty look but also didn’t say anything. After getting the bag we told her thank you not only one but twice just and she just stared ugly at us while holding the bag. After, we took the bag, she continued to look at us rudely, even as we drove off. This was extremely unprofessional and uncalled for. I had previously rated this location four stars, but now it barely deserves one. This is not the first time she has been rude, as she always seems to have an unpleasant attitude whenever we visit. Hopefully, the manager, Laura, will address this issue and speak with her to improve her attitude...

I’ve been hooked on Braum’s ice cream for the last 2 years. Being from the north, I was not familiar with the chain until I stumbled upon this ice cream shop that was adjacent to the hotel that I was staying at. Also, the Tulsa heat was something that I was not accustomed to which warranted me to want to indulge in a frozen treat. I was not expecting to see anything to write home about, I just assumed that I would order my usual turtle sundae, enjoy it, then move on. As I made my way across the parking lot, I noticed that in addition to flavorful frozen desserts, they offered hot eats. Interestingly, the inside space functions as a hybrid combining a fast food restaurant and market. Since I discovered the establishment, I have yet to see it not bustling when the sun is scorching the Tulsa landscape. In fact, it has become my go to spot whenever I’m passing through the city. The concept is cool, the service is great, the staff is polite and the price is right. To be honest, the price of my turtle sundae made it taste that much better. Let’s just say for every 2 sundaes that I buy from Braum’s, I’d barely be able to buy one...
