Asian Mart is my go-to place to pick up select items for Japanese cooking. 3-4 types of Furikake in glass dispensers at good prices. Good selection of sauces and seasonings. They have bulk sesame seed oil if you like to do some stir fry and noodling or some seasoning to meat dishes/soups. They have good selection of white and brown cooking rice wine ( would recommend the ones in the "square" glass bottles. Some selections of assorted rice crackers are. Occasionally you can find some good veggie or port pot stickers or Gyoza in the frozen cabinets. The have Sapporo Ichiban Miso Ramen and a few other Sapporo flavors , but at bit on the expensive side but are nice if you have the craving on that hard to find locally item. They have a good selections or Ramen types, also good selection of Zaru Soba (buck wheat) and other Soba noodles, yes they have the Tsuyu sauce concentrates to go with the Soba. Veggies do look good most of the time and you can find cheap bean sprouts about dollar a pound. Ginger root not a good price (Nam-Hai offers smashing deal on quantity vs price for that item) Asian Mart has a much cleaner and well-lit feel as opposed to some other Asian/international markets. They do have some nice Indian food selections but not full offerings.
They have and excellent selections of rice in small, medium and large bulks including the festive "Mochi" rice for sushi and making rice cakes (if you have a Mochi machine). Prices are good on the rice as well AND you don't get all the bugs in it like other stores, which is something I cannot say about Nam-Hai's "thermally sealed" bag offerings, yes they were packaged with it.
Staff is usually up-beat and helpful and I don't worry about double ring-ups at the register. Continuing to shop there as demand is needed $150 has set me up for 8 months of cooking which I...
Read moreNever had a bad experience, of course my pregnant brains did drop a can of sweet mung beans for the tapioca pearl drink I was going to make for a family event one time. The cashier was super nice, and didn't let it get to me. They cleaned it up without a fuss and took care of it professionally. Always kind greetings and great customer service. Check out their yummy deli! I would say towards later in the day their tapioca drink will dry out and tend to get stiff, so get it earlier in the the day! Great mangonada and boba tea! Great papaya salad as well! We always get something to eat or drink at the Deli just about every time we stop there. They have these Mexican ice cream bars in their small freezer by the registers and they are bomb! For a good price too, I love the cookies & cream, coconut is kind of bland, but their strawberry is also bomb! They have other...
Read moreStore is very empty and overpriced on products compare to the other Asian store in town. Bad customer service. Went to the deli to buy hot food. Lady maybe owner, Hmong lady who can speak English serve white male customer with friendly voice and good customer skill but didn’t acknowledge me standing there. After serving white male she walk to the back and never came out to help me. I ring bell and didn’t come out. I waited until she come out. She then tell me to wait while she continue to look for paper then answer phone and told them to wait. She continue to find label. By that time I had enough of waiting because she should have help assist me vs doing what she doing “looking for label”. So I walk away. Lost a customer and will never have a...
