I usually try to make it here twice a month on Sundays. I’ve been coming here for over 4 years and there is one waitress that I get and she’s great. She knows my order, it always comes out right, I never go needing a refill on my drink, and she makes the experience absolutely amazing.
I came in a couple weeks ago and received possibly the worst service I’ve ever had there. Food came out wrong, waitress didn’t deliver the food and didn’t come to check on the food for 10 minutes. I didn’t ask for them to remake it, and they didn’t offer, but I did paid for my food and even tipped the waitress about another $10. I also commented that I’d make sure my waitress was there the next time I decided to come back before I committed to eating there. Forgive me for wanting the food I ordered to be the way I ordered it, and have a decent experience. Heaven forbid, you know, customer service.
I guess the manager behind the bar did not like the fact that I ordered my food one way it came out wrong and I didn’t eat it and said that I’ll just come back and make sure my waitress is here before I eat here again because today I had a very interesting experience which just blows my mind.
When I entered I saw that my waitress is there so I say hi, then waited for a seat. After I set down I waited for her to come by with my drink, but she never did, instead another guy (who is also good at his job) comes up and says I’m your waiter now. I asked if my usually was just too busy and he said no I’m your waiter now you won’t be getting her anymore. I said excuse me. He said I can explain it, but I’m going to be your waiter now. I told him nothing against him, but no, I’ll just leave.
So, because I had a horrible experience, paid for my food, and said I’ll come back and make sure my waitress is here, you want to ruin my experience even more. How does that make sense from a customer service standpoint.
This from an establishment that added a 20% gratuity to your order, regardless of your party size, during CoViD-19, and hasn’t removed it.
I know my review is not gonna do much, but I hope other people see it and start to question how we view our experience, especially when you keep upping the prices of food, you keep a 20% gratuity you added on during Covid, and we’re clearly out of Covid now, and this is how you treat customers who come consistently to support your establishment.
I don’t know if the older, short gray hair gentleman is the owner of the restaurant or not, but if he is that says a lot about about why he didn’t like the fact that I didn’t like my food. If he’s not, I would love to have a nice conversation with the owner, because this is not how you run a restaurant and provide...
Read moreI don't like to leave negative reviews on local places, but I felt like I had to with Brookside by Day. I went in on a slow Tuesday morning and was seated outside, which was fantastic because the weather was great! I had high hopes, as I never got around to trying this place, even after living here my whole life. First, I ordered two mimosas for the table, and they were absolutely abhorrent, it tasted like the absolute worst, sour/harsh bubbly I have ever had before and the orange juice tasted like that type of orange juice you make from a frozen concentrate block. Gross. I hoped that the drinks hadn't been suggestive of the food quality but I was wrong. The food was so incredibly bland. I got home fries and fruit. The potatoes were undercooked somehow, and there were absolutely no seasonings on them, not even salt, the fruit was fine- nothing spectacular or special. I had asked if they had toast and avocado and they said no- which I thought was a pretty easy item to make, because they have both toast and avocado on the menu. My friend got chicken fried steak, eggs, and some home fries along with toast and they said it was really good but very, very bland. I also asked our waiter if he knew if the biscuits were made with any type of animal product in them and he just shrugged and said "yeah I don't know" and went on with taking our order. Not a big deal but just thought it was strange. We got the check and I couldn't believe my eyes when it was $60! The food tastes so... Frozen and reheated, honestly. The food was seriously the quality of nursing home / hospital food, if not worse, at least they give you salt and know what is in their cooking. No where near $60 in my opinion, I could see if we were paying like, $25, maximum... Overall, it was a disappointing meal and subpar service.
Nursing home quality food for $60. Also, they automatically add 20% gratuity onto the check. I have no problem with this, as I always tip 20% or more. However, that should be told to customers ahead of time. I like My tip is just go to a different brunch/breakfast/lunch place and spend your money there. McDonald's has...
Read moreMy daughter had been here before with her boyfriend and they had a great experience - she and I went for breakfast and our server took our order, delivered our food and never checked on us again - instead she sat across the room and (I assume) rolling silverware and staring over at us the entire time 🤷🏼♀️. The food was mid at best (eggs were over cooked, potatoes were overcooked - both Hashbrowns and Home Fries & nearly inedible, the French Toast was soggy/undercooked and my sausage links weren't all fully cooked either - my glass of milk was brought to the table at room temperature) and the service was also not great. They do charge an automatic 20% gratuity - which would have been fine if the service had been even "just good" but she earned a 10% tip at best. I'm not a cheap tipper, I'm from Nevada where we tip EVERYONE EVERY TIME - PERIOD - so - I don't mind tipping appropriately every single time - just thought it was interesting that because she knew she was already getting 20% tip she didn't do anything to actually take care of us other than the absolute bare minimum.
Overall not an experience that will have me coming back again any time soon - my daughter said the experience was completely different than her last visit and she was noticably shocked by that, if that tells you anything. It may have been the fact we visited on a Thursday together and the last time she had been was on a busier Saturday...
