We were super pumped to try the South Tulsa Daddy Bās BBQ! From the time we walked in the door, literally, we were very disappointed. The host was pretty nice. Not real friendly but nice. The waitress Clarissa was definitely the opposite. Sheās came out about 5 mins after we were seated and took our drink order. About 6 ice cubes in a warm glass of tea. Tea was definitely the best part of the whole meal! When asked for a glass of ice, we received less then half a glass to split between 2 people. Then there is the foodā¦ā¦. The waitress told us about 25 mins into waiting for our food to come out, āIām headed to grab it and bring it right out.ā 10 mins later, she didnāt even remember who ordered what, the chopped brisket was so incredibly greasy, pretty sure the smoked sausage and hot links were boiled not smoked, the okra was pretty decent, the fries were SO covered in salt they were inedible. Then there was the seasoningā¦ā¦ Iām not sure why you would DUMP AND I MEAN DUMP, that amount of seasoning ALL over every bit of food on the tray. BBQ should be seasoned in the prep process not after the fact. Especially that much!! There was so much of what I assume was seasoned salt covering the whole plate, there was no chance to even take the extra food home to the dogs. We are so very disappointed in our first and only trip to the new South Tulsa Daddy Bās BBQ!! The price was very reasonable if we were eating at a restaurant that we could have eaten the meal we payed for. Instead we payed $45 ish for a meal that we trashed over half of the food. We waited for a couple of weeks to try it due to the issues all new restaurants have when they open. Unfortunately, we wonāt be spending our money there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe backs of the wait staffs' shirts all said, "We serve BBQ and Jesus." Well, you better have His patience if you're going to eat there. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:37 pm. We were seated at 7:00 pm. Our order was taken at 7:20 pm.
The dinners were priced well. The menu said dinners came with a sliced bread, pickle, and onion and two sides.
I ordered the rib dinner (11.99) with an add-on of smoked sausage (2.99). Portion size was great, three ribs and a good portion of sausage. Their motto is, "You need no teeth to eat our meat!" Then do NOT order the smoked sausage. My plastic knife (no silverware) couldn't even cut through the casing. And the ribs were quite tough. Both the sausage and the ribs were incredibly salty. There were no onions or pickles on the tray. For my sides, I got coleslaw and potato salad. The fly I kept shewing away liked the slaw better than I did. The potato salad was mushy and a bit gritty. My wife had the baked potato with chopped beef. She enjoyed it, but said there were some large chunks of fat that were off-putting.
The wait staff seemed lost and incredibly unsure of themselves. Our waitress could not multitask at all. We were her second table. She didn't even acknowledge us until the other table had left and paid. She never asked us what we'd like to drink. When she asked us what we wanted to order we just added that we'd also like water. She did then ask if we wanted lemon. The host seemed on top of things, but you could see his frustration with slowness of the waitresses.
Overall, it was slow, salty, and unsatisfying. I may give it a few months and try again, if they are still...

Took a friend here today....not disappointed at all! Fried okra is the best ever! I tried the catfish...mind blowing delicious....my dad couldn't even do it this good!!!! Get a piece of catfish and just try it!!!!! Thank you Daddy B's for consistent good food!
Where do I start? This place is CLEAN! The atmosphere (music š¶)fits right in to the decor. The SERVICE is outstanding!! The FOOD IS FANTASTIC!!! Good BarBQ doesn't need sauce....the smoke in the meat comes through on it's own. I tried the pulled pork sandwich, added slaw and a side of okrašš„³. Came with fresh onions and Pickle spear. The okra (huge fan of the stuff) was cornmeal dusted, fried to perfection. The sandwich was delicious, soft bun lightly toasted, a mound of pulled pork and a scoop of coleslaw. I had to try the sauce so I drizzled it on my okra, mild is mild, hot is spicy but not so hot you can't handle it. The server, Shondra was outstanding, polite, quick, friendly and helpful. The staff as a whole was awesome. These folks enjoy their business and it shows. They open at 11 & I would advise you to be on time as it fills up quickly and I understand why! PS I had a small sandwich and still took some home. A jumbo.... well no...
