I have so many great things to say, I don't know where to start. I found your bakery from a friend who lives in Tulsa. I was planning a 90th Birthday celebration for my mother who lives in Muskogee, OK. (I live in Atlanta GA). I found Ludger's because a Muskogee bakery messed up my order, and provided terrible customer service, and wouldn't correct themselves. From the start, every person I encountered on the phone at Ludger's were extremely professional, polite and very attentive. I placed an order for a Chocolate Raspberry filled cake. The day before the event, I called to make sure the order would be ready, but also, I needed to pick up the cake a few hours early. They said "no problem" and that they'd have it ready when needed. I realized I needed more bakery items (because we had more RSVP for the event) and I needed to order cupcakes (to fill the need of the added guests). The person I spoke to gave me a delicious description of all the special varieties they had for the month. When they got to the Strawberry Champagne cupcakes... I knew I had a winner! So needless to say, the next day, we drove from the airport (flew in from Atlanta for the weekend) straight to the bakery... We only had a limited time for lunch...but the bakery looked so clean and inviting, we decided to have lunch there. Well...as expected, the service was beyond what we had expected for a sandwich shop, and the food we ordered was delicious. We picked up the cake and cupcakes to take with us... (but we got 4 Strawberry-Champagne to go!) OMG...those cupcakes were the best I've EVER had...I can't explain the flavors...but they were amazing (and I typically don't like sweets that much). The next day we hosted the surprise party, and the cake was absolutely beautiful with the silver metallic frosting on the dark chocolate frosting... All the guests were amazed at how moist, beautiful and delicious the cake was... I can't thank Ludger's Bavarian Bakery enough. You EXCEEDED my expectations (which are pretty high)... and the customer service was amazing. Bravo. Mind-blown-great customer service. Other bakeries (as well as other sandwich shops) should take note, and dine there to take notes on how to provide exceptional service. I just wished they had an annex-shop in Atlanta. They would have exceptional business here. Kudos and thanks. 6 stars out of 5. Chris Rey Martin,...

Needed to do a holiday family girls lunch and a couple of us decided to try out Ludger's. Since there were going to be eight of us, I thought I would call ahead to see if they would do a reservation. I was told that they only did reservations from their website. Just know that you must do the "Room Reservation" form (which kind of threw me for a loop). After some friendly chats and emails, I figured it out. But, I never got a confirmation email so the day of our lunch, I had to call again.
Around our table the Blue Bird got the most rave reviews. It's a turkey sandwich on blueberry bread. I did a combo with half a turkey pesto sandwich and the soup of the day, a Cajun Corn Chowder. The sandwich was OK. I didn't get a lot of pesto taste. The soup was not a chowder in the since that it was blended. It was more like a corn-potato chunky stew. It was also OK. Some in our group didn't order it because they thought it would be too spicy. Not an issue. In fact it could have used more spice.
Only a minor issue, but everyone who ordered iced tea had to go back to the counter for more ice.
This is an order-at-the-counter-table-delivery kind of place. It was pretty quick. I would return, maybe for breakfast. We also didn't try any dessert. Another party member really wanted to try a slice of cake. No cake was in the case but the apple desserts looked amazing.
There was also a nice gift area, especially for weddings. From reading the other reviews I would imagine that if I had ordered a cake (or had coffee) this might be a higher...
Read moreOh how I wanted to love this place... And oh how I just can't. Overall, it's not bad. It's just nothing great. Well, okay the rye bread was great tasting, but too thinly sliced. I got the Reuben, first thing listed on the Sandwich menu, I figured it had to be delicious. The Corned Beef was good, a lil bland but tender and tasty. However, if you are gonna charge me $10+ for a sandwich, you better cover the bread from edge to edge with meat. Where was the kraut? I mean its cheap, pile it high, make a statement. But if I don't need a fork to clean my plate after... Something went wrong. That leads us to the bread thickness, it was lightly sauced, barely any kraut and before I was done, the bread was already starting to get wet. Hmmm nope I was not impressed. Now for some more good, the Adult Grilled Cheese was good, very serviceable. But keep in mind Tulsa has a few Great grilled cheese shops in town now. Then the BLT... Very good. The bacon was thick and tasty. Good Lettuce, very nice. Now the desserts... LOL... This part gets better. The Tiramisu Cupcake was very tasty and moist. The Bavarian cream peanut butter cheese cake was delicious, I almost didn't even get to taste it. Hehehe. But the Bavarian Cream filled Cupcake had only a thimble full of cream piped into it, but it was yummy.
Lastly, sadly, I included a pic of the chandelier hanging between the doors and the registers... Take it down or clean it... Very unappetizing. Still, I wanna try this place again. I want...
