I give them a 2.5 star overall, numbed it to the 3 star based on the round up rule. Madre’s Mexican Kitchen what shall I say? The ambiance and decor was soothing, inviting and pleasant. Our hostess/table side steward was friendly. Now on to the food, I read some of the reviews which were mixed and decided to stop in for a bite after a good workout with the ladies. I opted for the shrimp ala Diablo, my daughter ordered the carne asada, and her friend ordered the steak chimichanga. I’ll start with the shrimp, the red sauce was not giving any flavor and the shrimps taste and texture was weird kind of like it was freezer burnt. The salad was old with mushy dark lettuce the dressing and everything had a good flavor however I couldn’t eat it well wouldn’t eat it but the tomatoes, avocado and crispy chips were edible and good. The rice had flavor but it was a tad sticky and thick. Next up is the steak chimichanga, the wrapping was thick and the sauce on top was a thick cheesy queso type sauce that thickens as it sets. The beans they had mixed tastebuds; one said she liked them and the other said she didn’t and hers had a green bean in it. The guacamole was not housemade it tasted weird like a chemical taste, just off putting. Now the last entree is the carne asada. The steak tasted of char, just char lacking salt seasoning. The use of Badia seasoning or SazonGoya was needed on the carne asada and the shrimp. The stuffed jalapeño was very good. In closing, would any of us return? The answer is no. Oh I almost forgot about the pork belly appetizer, if I had of known the sauce came on top I would have requested it be on the side because the verde/tomatillo sauce was not good however the pieces of pork belly chicharrones I was able to taste without the sauce was good especially the crispy part.

I hate to say that this is the worst Mexican food we have ever had. We arrived for a late lunch and there were plenty of tables yet they sat us in a back corner next to a supply table. The smell of the disinfectant was very strong and we smelled it throughout our lunch. Our server was the only bright spot in our visit. The chips weren't bad but the salsa tasted like it was just tomatoes. When the food came out it was all a disappointment. The rice on my plate was white with no seasoning or spices of any kind. My black beans had a very odd flavor, metallic like they'd been sitting in a can for a long time. My chili relleno was covered in a very thick sauce. The relleno itself was flavorless and the sauce made the crispy outside soggy. Underneath the relleno there were carrots and zucchini, which I found odd, and they made the bottom of the relleno soggy. I ordered a side of Mexican street corn. It was a bowl of plain sweet corn with some cotija cheese on top. If you've had street corn you know that's not it. My son had shredded beef enchiladas. His were also covered in a thick red chili sauce that he said had no flavor. The shredded beef was in huge chunks he had to pull apart as he ate it, and he said it wasn't seasoned at all. His Spanish rice was also flavorless and the pinto beans tasted like they were straight from a can with no flavor. The prices were very reasonable but neither of us finished our meal and we regretted choosing Madre's.

Went in on a thurs afternoon for the advertised $2 street tacos, $5 margs and $7 burrito. Option is chicken or steak for both meal deals—so husband did steak tacos while I got the chicken burrito. Also had a small queso for app and I loved the pico topping in that, the thickness of the chips, and the smokiness of the salsa. We asked for spicer salsas (we are sauce people and we want to try them all) and they were SO authentic, yummy and spicy. There were two different kinds between the one they brought for my request, and the one that came with the street tacos. Both so good and made for excellent spicy leftovers later when mixed with the regular salsa.

Tacos were awesome, burrito was huge!! Stuffed with chicken, refried beans, rice, then covered in cheese and queso with a side of guac and sour cream. We ate the tacos, a bit of the burrito and then finished that off later for dinner, happily.

The margs were SO good, strong and you could taste the natural and fresh ingredients they use. Two $5 house margs had me feeling great! Highly recommend looking out for their specials on their social media pages (Facebook specifically is what the server recommend, while I drooled over their Instagram before coming in). Our server was also bartending and she did fantastic! We will...
