First and foremost it felt like it was 2° below zero outside and inside it was nice a cozy. The worker's couldn't have been nicer or cooler.
Now for the restaurant, I'm in a wheelchair and tables weren't the best. My Wheelchair frame (seating portion) is 17 inches wide and add 6 to 8 inches for the wheels. Anyway I mention all of this because the table they sat my girlfriend and I at couldn't have been any wider than 16". Meaning, 1. Close to half of my body was in the isle, 2. Once they put the drinks down there was barely enough room for the appetizer - if you ordered an appetizer, and 3. It was the only table I could get my knees under. Luckily because it was roughly 20° outside and windy it was as dead as it could be. So my girlfriend and I kinda rearranged a table so I could slide roughly 4" lower than my wheelchair and onto a bench. I've been to tons of different restaurants all over Tulsa Oklahoma, Kansas City Missouri (where I grew up), as well as many other places between Baja Mexico and here. Never have I ever seen tables so low to the ground or a table that small in my lifetime.
Later they sat another couple in it. They ordered an appetizer and before they brought the peoples food out they picked up the appetizer and removed it. When they brought the food out the gentleman said, I wasn't even done with the appetizer (I giggled). I don't know how they put 2 plates on the table but there wasn't any room for a hand resting on the table much less an appetizer.
Now to the food, I enjoy a little bang for my buck to be completely honest and upfront about this. I'm now 47 and I don't eat like I did growing up. Meaning easily half as much. I ordered the meatloaf and the portion was way smaller than I could have imagined. Then my girlfriend ordered a Hamburger and I'm probably wrong about this but I "think" online said it would be 1/2 pounds hamburgers. At Home I cook 1/3rd pound burgers and that's what it was. The food tasted great but I ate my meatloaf and was maybe half full at best (the way I remember it). It's probably been a month and and my phone just popped this up asking me to leave a review. I'm 5'10" - 180 lbs and my girlfriend is 4'10" - 99 lbs. So we are not big people in the slightest.
In short, Cozy Little Place! Little people type tables, food tasted great (cook knows how to season food), and small food portions. Along the lines of smaller lunch portions for supper service. Yes this could be viewed as critical but my honesty means everything to me. Yes I could have complained, but I didn't set the portion sizes and what could they do? Say, we will try to do better next time. I remember being told that about a large McDonald's fries being barely halfway full once lmmfao. That fixed me...
Read moreSome of the food we got was REALLY, really good! And some of it was really.... just ok. Our server was a really sweet lady, very fun and charming and I very much enjoyed her service. But when it came to specifically my food, out of a group of seven people, it was kind of a nightmare.
My food came much much later than the rest of the food. A different person than our server brought out my food, which was wrong —it had the wrong kind of fries, which was frustrating but not the end of the world. She said they'd bring out the right kind for me. Alright. I have an allergy to onions so I opened my burger up to check just in case, and I discover... There is no cheese? I flag her down again and ask and she takes the burger for a bit. And then returns with the same burger, now with a cold piece of American cheese on it. I am tired and want to eat so it's fine, whatever, I don't mention it. My burger was sad, frankly. It was dry, it was overcooked enough that not only was it unpleasant to chew, but the patty randomly just broke in half. The cheese did not melt at any point, which I feel is kind of an important part of a burger's experience. I would have preferred if my burger was more seasoned, and two of the other people there with me also had very under-seasoned food. The one person in our party that didn't get a burger had genuinely incredible food. But I guess I expected that on "burger night," the "busiest night of the week" for this restaurant, I might get a pretty good...
Read moreStopped in for a quick lunch here, it was 500 yards from my boyfriend’s job and I wanted to make sure he could enjoy his food and not rush. I didn’t realize it was a pub. For a quick lunch spot it still didn’t disappoint too much.. there weren’t many food options so I just chose the Reuben and soup of the day lunch special (creamy chicken and mushroom). I don’t ever order Reuben’s but wanted beef.. it was good for a Reuben I guess. Beer options were fantastic so for a pub spot this would be a really nice place to have a few beers and enjoy the atmosphere. For an appetizer we got the artichoke dip with pita. It was GREAT. The pitas melted in your mouth but it was a little too salty, so good in moderation. My boyfriend got the burger and it was underdone (asked for well done and it was red- juicing red out the sides before a bite was even taken). He asked for it to be cooked a bit longer and we shared my food which filled us up and got the burger to go since we were running out of time. We were quick to order, quick to eat, and quick to leave. All in all we were there about 30 min. Our food came out incredibly fast and every single person who interacted with us had great service. Then surprise, surprise, our check came and they took it upon themselves to deduct 7.50$ labeled “make it right”. 5 stars for me AS A PUB. I don’t know if I’d ever stop in for lunch again with such limited options but I will definitely be back to try a few beers...
