This is the first and last time I’ll ever waste my energy writing a review about Pho Da Kao in Tulsa. I will never return, and I want every customer to know why.

On September 28, 2025, I was sightseeing in Tulsa and decided to try some Vietnamese food. I was excited to see grilled pork rice on the menu—it’s my favorite dish. But when my order arrived, what I got was stir-fried pork with steamed rice. Completely different, totally Americanized, overly sweet, and not what I ordered at all.

I immediately spoke with the owner, expecting an apology or at least acknowledgment. Instead, she refused to admit any mistake. She bragged about being in business for 40 years, as if that excuse served the wrong food. I’ve been a chef for over 20 years—I know the difference between grilled pork and stir-fried pork. Her excuse? “Grilling takes too long, so we stir-fry.” That’s not authentic, that’s lazy.

When I suggested the menu should be corrected to avoid misleading customers, she flat-out refused. She said she would never change it and even told me if I didn’t like it, I could go somewhere else—because apparently she doesn’t care about her customers or her reputation. She literally admitted she doesn’t care if people leave bad reviews.

So here’s my warning: if you want real Vietnamese food, do not waste your time or money here. This place misleads customers, cuts corners, refuses to take responsibility, and clearly doesn’t value the people who keep them in business. There are plenty of better Vietnamese restaurants in Tulsa that actually serve what’s on the menu and treat their customers with respect. Pho Da Kao is...

I really like Carter Pham's review of the restaurant, as he states he's a former employee.... nothing but the truth. I can only imagine the employees there are underpaid, but every time i go there, (Especially after a night of drinking, and i'm hung-over... there is NOTHING better for a hangover) the food is consistently delicious and authentic, I think ANYONE who doesn't like their food, does not have the proper pallet for Vietnamese food, its something you acquire if your not native oriental, witch i am not, born and raised in Tulsa, OK. This is NOT NOT NOT FAST FOOD, and is an extremely popular restaurant, and for very good reason, THEIR FOOD IS GREAT. As far as customer service, DO NOT expect the best, because the poor workers of this restaurant are obviously underpaid and very overworked, I've even seen my server, (Gosh i wish i could recognize him by name) sweating because people were pouring into the place, he had NO help cleaning the tables as people left, he had to take ALL the orders and deliver them, all the while he maintained his composure and never let anyone know the kind of pressure he was under. -I myself, worked in the restaurant business for little over a year, and understand the dirty looks you can get from winy customers that don't understand the immense pressure you can come under, working as a server.

So please Judge them, only by the quality of their food, not their service.

And to the young, skinny looking male server, i commend you Sir, you...

Good pho place and definitely one of the better places in Tulsa.

The place was fairly organized and I liked the flow of it a lot.

You start out by ordering at the counter with a huge menu to look at. Big in size, not the number of of dishes to choose from. This is a good thing! Fewer dishes simplifies the experience. After ordering, they give you a number to go get seated and they'll bring out your food to you.

We ordered a beef and seafood pho, bun ho hue, pork egg rolls, and spring rolls.

The appetizers were priced right for the size and was nicely presented and not to mention, tasty. The pho was nothing out of the ordinary, but very good for Tulsa. The Bun Bo Hue was okay, but did come with an assortment of meat and toppings which made it enjoyable.

Would I go back? Definitely. It'll probably be one of very few places in Tulsa I would take friends and family who come into town... Or a place to go to after a night where I promise myself to never drink again. Which ever persona fits your lifestyle, you won't be disappointed like many other pho joints...

Probably the best pho spot I've had in Tulsa. Workers were incredibly friendly, spring rolls were fantastic, and pho was delicious. I want to try other dishes, but I can't stop myself from reordering the pho. It will definitely be a weekly habit for me! Update: As weather is warming up, I finally tried some other dishes other than the pho (I have little self control.) The grilled pork with vermicelli plate was fantastic. Definitely going to be a reoccurring purchase for lunches on a hot day.
