Honest opinion from a 1st time visitor. I honestly typically do not write reviews, but I had been soooo curious about this place who moved in literally on the same block as KFC. I should have just gone to KFC...

I orderd the 4 piece grilled chicken dinner (wing, thigh, leg, wing) and the fried chicken salad (a cut up sandwich cutlet on top of a salad) After waiting 20 mins and being told to move from the drive thru to the parking lot, food handed to me was not hot, it was pretty much stone cold. The grilled chicken..IMO seasoning might have been good if the soggy saggy skin didn't gross me out. The breast had literal globs of seasoning in the crevices. I peeled off the skin and Im not sure if the temperature of the food made it dry, or the prep, but it was pretty dry. The wing & leg were almost comical in how tiny they were. The mac n cheese was tastey! but again not hot.. warm. Coleslaw was tangy, not bad. The salad, well.. hard to mess up bagged lettuce thrown in a bowl with a few veg then throw a thin sliced sandwich chicken on it. Overall experience about a 4 out of 10. I won't bother again. Very pricey for the quality in my opinion. $28ish with no drinks, just exactly...

I wanted to try something new so I went to this location campero. Pay $25 for a chicken salad and a chicken salad Bowl only to wait in the drive through 15 minutes after paying for my food. The weight became so long that I continually looked at my watch to time the service. After 15 minutes I called the store from the drive through window location and this is when I saw my first employee the manager come to the window to answer the phone. Upon answering I advised the managers that I have been sitting in drive through waiting 15 minutes at this point the manager asked me to wait another 8 minutes for some rice. I explained to the manager and the employees that I've already been in the drive through window for 15 minutes waiting and will not be waiting another 8 to 10 minutes and requested my money back. After getting home and looking at my receipts and it looks like that I was charged again $25 for a chicken salad and a chicken bowl I will be contacting my bank institution tomorrow morning. However first impressions are everything and this restaurant's first impression to me deserves a 2 and I will not...

King Solomon couldn't give a more honest opinion than the 1 I'm about to give- 1) good food, doesn't taste exactly as the pollo campero I use to eat in El Salvador but good food! 2) the service needs work, first of all they need bilingual people taking orders. When I was there there were 2 people taking orders (Hispanic young man & Hispanic young lady) the girl spoke zero English but the guy spoke English. There were plenty of customers that didn't speak Spanish so they were made to wait for the English speaker. This didn't help the long lines. 3) we ordered empanadas, somewhere after placing our order they ran out of empanadas. They young man that brought our order didn't mention anything about us not getting our empanadas, when he saw my wife checking the accuracy of our food, he said "can I offer you another side dish instead of your empanadas"....Shady! Shady! He was hoping we would simply walk out w/o checking our order. Be honest, be courteous and that will take you far in life. 4) the price is not fast food prices. So don't expect to pay as you do at Wendy's or McD's. So overall- 4 stars! Not 3,...

The food was phenomenal the fried chicken was well cooked and a terrific flavor, like it was when my wife got it in Guatemala which is where she knew the chain from. We tried the yuca fries and got the tortillas and beans (great) regular fries and plantains not as done as we like(carmelized) but still pretty good if a little mushy. But we had not had the grilled chicken before and enjoyed it alot though the fried was the top choice. One of the boys cleaned the bone and that had not happened before. The campero sauce is good. The only draw back was a language barrier on the inside my Spanish is rusty at best and her English non existent it took 5 tries to convey kids meal. Some sides were wrong and an item was forgotten/not added but a different lady assumed control of our order and she did a great job. The other woman God bless her was trying very hard so I give them an a for effort but communication was an issue the guy behind me was much more fluent and did not have issues....I will use Google translate for sure if I run into it again.

I wanted to ask if Gus Fring was there. The chicken is hot and juicy. Lightly seasoned, lightly battered and fried to a dark crisp. Most of the crunch comes from the super crispy skin. It was not oily, when I bit the breast section the hot juices ran out. So hot it had to cool for a while before I could finish it. I liked the texture, the taste and the fact that it is not overly breaded. We had 2 three-piece meals with fries and beans. A plate full of great fries was under the chicken. The beans were tasty, spicey like chili beans. The restaurant was not crowded this afternoon. I believe the new has worn off. Reviewers’ ratings vary wildly. My wife and I enjoyed the meals, but I don’t believe Pollo Campero will dominate the fried chicken market in Tulsa. Not by the same name, but it does remind me of the chicken restaurant in that popular TV series a from few years ago.

BE CAREFUL ⚠️⚠️⚠️ THEY SERVED ME SALMONELLA. If you don't speak Spanish they will probably give you bad chicken! It happened to me twice! No one speaks English here. The one in Oklahoma City is so much better and more professional. They were getting mad at me at the window because I didn't speak Spanish. I did not understand a thing they said when they were trying to speak English to me. Maybe hire an English speaker? They also take a long time to serve you. I also could not get a refund or come to any resolution with them about the problem because no one understood what I was talking about. We'll be reporting them to the health department and the BBB and the I.C.E. If you don't believe me call them right now and ask for someone to speak English and see what they say!
