We recently visited First Watch for breakfast, and from start to finish, it was a genuinely satisfying experience. If you’re looking for a spot that combines delicious food, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere, First Watch checks all the boxes—and then some. Let’s start with the food, because honestly, that’s what impressed us the most. I ordered the Chickichanga, and wow, it was very good. It’s one of those dishes that surprises you—in a good way. The outside was perfectly crisp, golden, and just the right amount of flaky, while the inside was packed with flavor: seasoned chicken, eggs, green chilies, cheese, and turkey sausage. It was rich, but not too heavy, and came sour cream on top. Highly recommend if you’re craving something savory, filling, and just a little different from your typical breakfast fare. The seasoned breakfast potatoes that came on the side were just as memorable. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and well-seasoned—these weren’t just filler potatoes. They added a nice texture to the meal and were so good I found myself picking at them long after I was full. A little salty for my taste, but never the less, my wife said they were not salty. My beautiful wife had the Biscuits and Turkey Sausage Gravy, and it was another winner. The biscuits were fluffy and warm, and the turkey sausage gravy was thick, flavorful, and comforting without being overly salty or greasy. It had just the right amount of seasoning, and the portion size was generous. It’s the kind of meal that hits the spot on a weekend morning when you want something hearty and soul-warming. And then there was Paige, our server—absolutely awesome. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. She made us feel welcome right away and was on top of everything: checking in without hovering, keeping the coffee cups full, and giving great recommendations with a smile. You can tell she enjoys her job, and it really made a difference in our experience. The total for two of us came to about $36, which we thought was very reasonable for the quality of the food, the generous portions, and the great service. Especially in today’s dining climate, that kind of value is getting harder to find. We left feeling full, happy, and like we got more than our money’s worth. A 27% tip was in place. Final thoughts: First Watch is a solid breakfast spot with standout dishes, fresh ingredients, and an inviting atmosphere. Whether you're trying something unique like the Chickichanga or sticking to comfort classics like biscuits and gravy, you're going to walk away satisfied. Add in amazing service from someone like Paige, and it's the kind of place you'll want to return to—and soon. 5 out of 5 stars. We'll definitely be back.

A very nice new restaurant. Bright, comfortable, attractive colorful décor. A big painting of a bison stands guard behind the counter. The service is fast, attentive, excellent. Alexandra was our server. A very nice young lady who provided superb service. The first thing I noticed was the coffee. It was unusually good for café/restaurant coffee. Mellow flavors. Most importantly it had flavor, real coffee flavor. At most of these cafes, the coffee is so diluted that the filter used in brewing the coffee provides most of the flavor. A pot comes to the table with your cup. Serve yourself. Two First Watch’s Traditional Breakfasts: 2 Eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, a slice of whole grain toast and a tasty fruit preserve for the toast. Most café seasoned potatoes are unacceptable. I prefer crispy hash browns. A surprise. These were very good. Crispy with onion and a little seasoning of some type. Check the pictures. These worked. Bacon, a generous amount. The whole grain toast with a smear of butter, was delicious by its self, and as a mop for the eggs. The fruit preserve on the other half of the toast brought the meal to a perfect ending.

FINALLY, THE CHICKICHANGA HAS COME BACK TO TUL-SA! Can you smell what First Watch is... cooking. A couple of years after closing First Watch is back, and in a brand spanking new building. It was comforting to see the old menu around new tables, fixtures and location. Service was prompt. Two different waitresses attended to us. This did lead to being asked if everything was okay multiple times and sometimes back to back. For breakfast I got the Chickichanga, a breakfast option I have been missing in Tulsa. My mom got the lemon ricotta pancakes. Both were promptly served and both were delicious. The side of potatoes were a little on the salty side, but hot, rich coffee took care of that. They still leave the coffee carafe on the table. One thing I must bring up is the eastward facing windows. It seems weird that a breakfast/lunch spot would not think about customers and staff being blinded by the sun. If you are on one side of the restaurant you are going to need sunglasses. Otherwise a great experience and we will be back.

My party all has food service industry experience so we know what is the ground rules for good service. We understand a restaurant being busy but this experience was one of the worst I have ever had to a restaurant I have never been before. Our party of 3 went inside to get on the waitlist. No one greeted us just asked for a name. I asked how long the wait was for 3 and the hostess repeated herself so I repeated my question. The wait time depends if I want to give my name. She ignored me and asked my name again. I went a head and gave her my name and she then asked how many. Was “how long is the wait for 3?” not giving her an idea of how many we had in our party? I told her again 3. She then told me 25-40 minutes. We got on the list and waited outside. At 25-30 minutes got a text saying I was next in line and head to the host area. I did, I was ignored and finally had to practically yell to get the hostess in front of me to pay attention. The guy up there just ignored everyone. We got seated and looked over the menus. We looked around and made eye contact with multiple servers and bussers. Not one came over to us. No one offered us water while our server was busy. We never saw who our server would have been. Once looking at the time we said we will wait another 2 minutes to see if our server would show up. Nothing, servers continued to walk all around us. Tables seated after us we being greeted. Over 10 minutes of being ignored we got up and left. One hostess said “thank you for dinning with us” I walked over to her as the rest of my party walked out the door hungry and pissed off. I told her and the man that ignored everyone “We never got service so we are leaving. You can give our table to someone else.” The hostess’ mouth dropped and nothing was said. I walked out shaking my head. As I said before we all have food industry experience. Why one of the many other servers or hosts didn’t come over to at least offer water while they figure out where our server was is ridiculous. Over 10 minutes without being acknowledged is inexcusable. Sad this was my first (and last) experience at this restaurant. Thankfully we went to another restaurant and had amazing service. Our server at the restaurant we went to got a huge tip that one from First Watch missed out on because they never showed up to the table or send someone over to help them out. First Watch needs to work on customer service from the moment a guest walks...

After sharing my concerns about my initial visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the prompt and thoughtful response from Mr. Guzman. He reached out to address my feedback, listened carefully to my concerns, and generously offered gift cards for a return visit to any First Watch location. I decided to use them on my birthday, which turned out to be a fantastic decision! I even got to enjoy their birthday special: buy one entrée, get one half off.

I visited the 81st Street location, and this time, everything was excellent. The service was attentive, and the food was delicious. For starters, we enjoyed coffee, water, and the festive “Red Medicine” drinks from their holiday menu. Our party of four ordered a variety of dishes, including the Trifecta, the Chorizo Omelette, the Traditional Breakfast with chicken sausage, and plenty of bacon. To top it all off, I added a Carrot Cake & Pecan Pancake for a touch of flair—it did not disappoint!

This visit completely changed my perspective on First Watch. The team went above and beyond to make things right, and I genuinely appreciated their effort. It turned out to be a memorable birthday brunch, and I’m looking forward to visiting again. Thank you,...
