This was not a great experience. We sat for nearly 10 minutes while the proprietor chatted with another customer and cleaned her blackboard, erasing the menu. There was no menu. We were a party of 3. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with bacon, my mother ordered a slice of toast, sweet potatoes and two over easy eggs with cheese. My husband ordered hash browns (she said came with peppers and onions), two over easy eggs, slice of toast and bacon. One coffee, one water, one orange juice.
My mother’s meal was brought out first. Her eggs were perfect! Her potatoes a little burnt, but she likes them like that, so YUM for her, and her slice of toast.
My meal came out about 5 minutes after my mom’s. I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon. There were two slices of charred bacon. I asked for a hard egg, it wasn’t hard.
My husband’s meal came out around 5 minutes after mine, so 10 minutes after the first meal was brought. His was missing his potatoes and his eggs were over hard, not over easy, as requested. He finished what they served him then his potatoes came out. They were undercooked with black pepper and onions, not what one would think was “peppers and onions” on hash browns but he still ate them, because he doesn’t waste..
When I was checking out, I let her know about the potatoes not being fully cooked. She said she’d remove them, which wasn’t my goal for telling her. He ate the potatoes, I had ZERO problem paying for them. Anywho, she starts ringing me out, I see my bagel pop up at $8, then she started adding the bacon - $6 for two slices. I questioned it thinking she couldn’t possibly be charging me 14+ dollars for a breakfast sandwich. She seemed very frustrated and told me there was no charge for anything and I could leave. I told her repeatedly that I wanted to pay. She refused. I left $30 on the table and left.
I went in there excited to share this place with my mother and husband, as I’ve been here a few times before and really enjoyed it. I walked out of there, embarrassed that I even walked in.
Bre is a good cook and an amazing baker. I really hope she gets her act together so she can make this work.
Be warned, no menu and no pricing is up front.
I truly hope others have a better experience. I will not...
Read moreFirst off the good. The food was good. We enjoyed our meals. Now the bad. I’m not sure if this place is going to last. There is no menu, it’s just what they put on the board. Very limited. If you do not like what is there or cannot eat it for dietary reasons you are out of luck. We saw two tables of four leave after they sat down because there wasn’t anything they wanted on the board. Also, there are no prices. You pay what you are told when you are done. The service was also slow because the waitress is the cook. It’s a nice idea, but it really only appeals to select people. It’s great that everything is fresh and homemade. I just don’t think it fits the area....
