Sitar Indian Express — Restaurant in Tuscaloosa

I had been anticipating this restaurant's opening, since it was first talked about! Went in on their second or third day open and had lunch.

Most of the time I have Indian food, it is from a buffet and therefore I'm not familiar with the names of all the dishes. If I remember, I had a Sitar Bowl with paneer curry. It was very good, although next time I will ask for it to be more spicy because that is my personal preference. The food was fresh, as I had to wait a few minutes for it to be made. Nothing was dried out as if it had been sitting. Everything was steaming hot. If I have to mention an area for improvement; it would be the drink cups. Some larger and non-disposable cups for dine-in would improve the experience a little.

I am a frequent diner at Sitar Indian on 15th Street (usually lunch buffet), and today I decided to try the newly-opened Sitar Indian Express. This proved to be the best decision I have made this week. My meal (Lamb Butter Masala bowl with garlic naan, yogurt, and a small salad) was absolutely delightful and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff treated me like a welcomed guest from the moment I walked in the door. I will certainly be back, and cannot recommend Sitar Indian Express...

My family was so excited when this place opened. We frequent the other location that is owned by the same family and when they mentioned bringing a new twist closer to us we were THRILLED.
