Pros: The food quality overall was good, the manager was very friendly and it was mostly a fine experience. It was clean, the decor was nice, and I liked the Tractor drinks... But my wife thought it was spicy lol. Different options like octopus, spam, mango salsa, the way it's prepared was nice to have everything mixed ahead of time. Spicy things were spicy enough, not overpowering.
Cons: Walking into a poké place for the first time I was thinking more traditional Asian or American Asian style. This is Hawaiian style Poké. So maybe that's my fault. The staff (not manager) wasn't all that helpful (not rude just kinda meh..... Almost indifferent about a few customers coming into a new store and it was loud and hard to get the order clear), the board was a little confusing and again not a lot of help with explaining it (especially if you're thinking traditional poke), there are many upcharges (the tasty more traditional stuff was extra lol), sauces aren't traditionally known and again not well explained. We paid almost $40 for 2 bowls and a drink, they were in recycled bowls, plastic recycled utensils, 3 yes 3 whole recycled napkins, and plastic cups with no lids or straws. Nothing is on a counter or by the drinks. Everything is done by the staff. If you're wanting, by this humble patron's opinion, nontraditional Hawaiian poke, clean food, alternative proteins and toppings for a premium price them you'll love it.
Staff: meh Manager: 👍 nice guy Food: good but expensive Environment: fine, other than being hard to hear
It's a perfect place for yoga Mom's, fake sophisticated people, and Karens. 3 out of 5 stars, wouldn't...
Read moreI was so excited to try out this new place. I love poke bowl, I could eat it everyday. I want to really like this place because this is sooo close to home. I am making this review from a constructive point of view because I want them to get better. I ordered the build your own poke bowl, got me 2 scoops of salmon and spicy tuna. The girl asked me for a marinating sauce and I chose the ponzu. However, I think it wasn't enough because the fish is totally bland. All the poke bowl place I have been to, they let me pick up to 3 sauces. I was under the impression that I was only supposed to choose one. So, it turned out really bland. That to me ruined the whole thing. I know that this place is new, but maybe more training to the staff? I don't know. I am just so used to the taste of Poke Cafe over at Old St. Augustine Rd. and they are by far the best I had. I hope this review will be taken in a constructive way so that things can get better. 🙂 I couldn't say more praise for the staff who are very welcoming and the place...
Read moreI only managed to take one picture, but I went here three times in the same week!! That’s gotta mean something, and it does: the food is so so good! I ate a ridiculous amount of poke when I lived in Hawaii. There is a distinct difference between authentic poke and Island Fin Poke. It has authentic elements with splashes of a healthier version of regular poke. It’s a great mixture and texture of healthy, hearty and delicious ingredients that keep me coming back for more. If you’re sick of greasy drive thru burgers, take a break, come inside, and get you a...
