Wife and I travel full time in our F-450 and Grand Design 380-FLR 42Ft. 5th wheel RV. I'm a retired veteran, currently work as a VOIP IT Tech and remote work full time. We stay in the local areas for 30 days and visit local establishments, parks and scenery and move on. We don't give 5 stars to most places unless we've had an extremely awesome experience.
We've been here 2 times. Quiet little place in Historic downtown Twin Falls Idaho. At first glance, the outside has a few tables to enjoy the weather and local market festival that happens every Saturday from 9AM - 1PM. When you walk in the place it's REALLY clean, has brick walls and super high ceilings to give you that feeling of a LOT of space. Not that it matters, it's not very wide but it's deep and is presented well.
Tables are well spaced throughout the establishment. Menu on the wall are for Monday - Friday and they'll present you with a weekend menu to choose from. A wide variety of food selection types to choose from. Has Alcohol choices too.
You order from the counter, they give you a number stand to place on the table and they bring you your order. Both times we've come here the cashiers we're very nice and knowledgeable about their menu items. The team behind the counter were busy bees and looked like they knew their positions.
Food is locally grown and has VERY good flavors. Prices are reasonable, but expect to pay 30 - 50 based on your selections for 2 people, first visit was 54.00 (we had mimosa's and smoothies too). Second visit was about the same cost.
1 Rest Room was multigender and VERY clean and taken care of. I didn't see any Wi-Fi available (That's OK)
Not so good things. Seats we're either hard wood or metal. Not very comfortable.
Both times we've visited, we've had to go back to the counter to ask for remaining items we had ordered and the second time, we needed to ask for Silverware.
Overall - We would go back...
Read moreMy husband took me to Yellow Brick for my birthday back in August and the Egg Benedict I ordered were cold. But my husband and I decided to give them a second chance and went back today, Thursday around ten in the morning. We were greeted promptly and we both ordered the Trout Egg Benedict with egg whites and café Latte.
Our coffee was brought to us within five minutes but we noticed that it was lukewarm. We decided to wait for the breakfast plates to ask if they would warm up the coffee for us. The waitress was gracious and offered to prepare a fresh cup because they didn’t have a microwave oven. I thought it was generous of her to offer us a fresh cup of coffee.
We then proceeded to start with the eggs Benny right away but to our disappointment, they were also cold. We tried eating them cold because I did not want to bother the waitress, after all it was not her fault, and I didn’t want her to think that I was a very demanding customer.
So, we took a couple of bites disregarding our dissatisfaction. But it started to bother me that we paid over $50.00, with a 20 percent tip as we paid with the credit card before the meal, assuming that we would get a decent meal. That’s when I decided to go directly to the chef who asked me: what was cold? which I then replied, everything and asked her if it was possible to warm them up in a toaster oven. Her reply was, “We don’t have room for a toaster oven” and maybe it sat too long in their counter, and she continued cooking. I told her that cold food could cause them to lose customers. That was it! I then asked the cashier for a box to take it home so I could warm it up.
Would I go back to this place? Heck no! (even though the Café Latte was great, the place is beautiful and the waitress was nice) the reason for the 2 stars. I wonder what the owner of this place might think about this, was...
Read moreI will start by saying what I enjoyed about Yellow Brick. The atmosphere is fantastic. The restuarant is clean. The food was delicious, and made with nice, fresh, ingredients. The coffee was great. There were a couple things I did, however, find unappealing that would detour me from returning. We ordered 4 entrees, 3 specialty coffees, and a smoothie. With a $10 tip, our total was almost $90. The portions were small so I found this a little steep for lunch. The woman who took our order and served us was not all that friendly. I find myself to be a positive and friendly person, I said "hi" when arriving and got no response in return. I said "thank you" when she cleared our plates and got no response again. I paid $5 for a latte and took my cup to the counter to refill with the drip coffee, she told me "that is for customers who paid for coffee." I apologized and said I assumed my purchase qualified and offered to pay. When leaving we got no "good-bye", "thanks", or "come again". I love to support local businesses and I love seeing down town thriving, but to me service is everything. When there are so many other places to choose from, I will choose to go to the places...
