We have been looking for a really good Mexican food place in Tyler, and have yet to find it. We returned to this place on a whim, remembering it as a fun, decent food kind of place. covid has reeked havoc with many places and this one has suffered terribly. It did not even feel the same. We wer given one paper menue, we could not have two, Covid rules. Plastic cutlery was placed in front of us right away. I ordered a margarita. Looking forward to it, the drink arrived in a plastic champaign glass. Still okay, but bordering on disapointment, our food came out. It was served on styrofoam plates. The real clencher was that it was not very hot. The enchiladas were cold. We order the carne asada, and it was tasty, but the combination of cold encliladas and styrofoam kind of ruined it for me. Whe I asked for metal utensils, I was told, no, Covid rules. This seemd odd since we had eaten at several other places in Tyler where white linen, and metal cutlery was okay. I had visions of it being easier to toss out everything, than to deal with the sanitation of regular disware and cutlery. Ok. BUT what about the land fill and all that plastic waste? Generating tons of recycled waste is normal in 2021 in this region. Kind of hard to understand with all the information that is out there about how we are polluting everything. I digress. The woman who took our payment, was very kind, and gave us a discount which we appreciated. As I was sad and disappointed when we were leaving, I even blurted out that I would not be back. The sweet woman said, that's okay. This place had so much character. It seemed to be a place a lot of people came to . I hope they can rget through this, and maybe figure out regain some of the lost charm and still be Covid proof, whtaever that means at this point. I really miss the old character of the place. I know it has been difficult on many businesses, I hope...
Read moreA great gem found in the middle of nowhere in the little town of Tyler Texas! While on our adventure to Dallas Texas we decided to hit the road for a bit and find a little bit less artsy-fartsy place to see what Texas was all about in the rural area. And we found this! Pretty good Hispanic traditional food with a hint of their own ingredients and spices to say the least.
The only negative I have here is my girlfriend was very cold as we sat about 4 seats away from the front door and it happened to be cold in Tyler Texas on that night and boy was it aggravating. So word to the wise if you're hot natured or cold natured depending on the weather you might not have the best time if you sit near the door, word to the wise! You've been warned!
The bathrooms I do appreciate because they are one person only bathrooms. You don't see that too much anymore but it's a very small touch of Beauty that is being forgotten each and every day. They were not that clean while we're on that subject, however it was acceptable enough to get the job done!
The hostesses and servers were very family-oriented and did not seem rushed or franchisee. I had no clue what we were walking into but we were satisfied being that Dallas Texas was the street Taco capital of the world and we hadn't been pleased thus far. Have fun here, live a little and definitely enjoy the scenery.

Read moreTHE absolute worst Mexican restaurant I've eaten at. Went at noon on a Saturday. They gave us ridiculously tiny plastic throw-away containers to eat their salsa with chips out of, no bowl. Difficult to scoop out salsa with one corner of a chip. I had a combination plate...steak fajitas with two enchiladas. The steak wasn't bad, but was so thin there wasn't very much of it. The enchiladas were so small it was almost laughable. They were no bigger than small tamales. Instead of a creamy cheese sauce, a tiny amount of crumbled cheese was sprinkled on top. The enchilada tortillas were dry, and the contents couldn't choke a mouse, so sparse was the chicken.
The service wasn't much better, my daughter's nachos came out several minutes after the rest of the family's meal. 'Cause nachos are so difficult to fix? Two other tables that came in after us were served before we were. Waited nearly ten minutes for a refill of tea.
The booths were jammed together so tight there was very little leg room. Far too many tables jammed into a small space. As my wife and I separately waited for the restrooms to clear, the lack of space outside the restrooms had us standing just two or three feet from standing IN the dining area, nearly on top of the booth closest to the restrooms.
Don't go...there must be better restaurants...
