Have been wanting to try for awhile but my schedule hardly allows for a Saturday night. Got in at 5 and the service was astounding and were seated quickly. We chose the Bone Marrow in which the server let us know that they were out of bacon jam and that the chef was figuring out an alternative, which he chose local honeycomb and couldn’t have been more satisfied. My fiancé went with the Pasta Acadiana and were a bit surprised by the dish. The crawfish was rubbery, the ham was chewy and dry and not even 4-6 minutes off the heat and the sauce was broken, like completely split. We did notify the server and he offered another plate but we had a 630 time constraint to attend to. He did provide a 10% discount on this dish since she had eaten maybe 4-5 bites but we did not box it and take it home. Again the server came back once more and did offer desert but time was just not allowed. I tasted her dish and agreed, not something I would have let leave the pass. I got the Heritage Pork Chop which was fantastic, the mustard greens and fennel pollen was excellent and the Harrissa was actually spicy enough, unlike most. The only thing was that the pork chop hit a pan that was just a little too hot because the outside of the pork was slightly dry, the center was absolute perfection. I took my leftovers home or what was left of it. Overall good service, the music was a little too loud for our taste, table a little wobbly but all small things. I appreciate the Sous Chef for making the accommodation for the bone marrow as I was really craving it. Food was good but not as exciting as I have read nor been told. I guess I expected more and maybe that’s not Cultures fault, but I wasn’t expecting The French Laundry or an atmosphere of Alinea, just something a bit more elevated and exciting than what we have in Tyler which isn’t much. Take what you will from this but it’s only constructive criticism from a fellow, local Chef.

This review has been a long time coming, but here it is. I’ve wanted to try this particular burger from Culture ETX for years, but for reasons that are in the past, I have chosen not to. As soon as I walked in I was politely told I could sit wherever I’d like. I chose a little table at the back of the restaurant. A very kind and personable waitress showed up to my table and took my drink order. She arrived a few minutes later with my water and I told her I already knew what I wanted. I ordered “The Cow Tipper” with a side of fries. I asked if they cooked the burgers to a specific temp and she replied with medium rare, but I could get it cooked differently if I wanted to. I told her medium rare was perfect. About 10 minutes went by and she brought me out something that damn near left me speechless. It was magnificent. After taking one bite, I instantly knew this was the best burger I’ve had in my life. The patty was so incredibly juicy and seasoned to perfection. It was covered in tons of melted cheddar, pickles, and mustard on a perfectly toasted bun. I also got a side of their horseradish mayo. It was incredible as well. The fries had such an amazing texture in my opinion. Nice and soft, with just the right amount of crunch. From the great service to the amazing food, I can’t recommend this place enough. I know I’ll be back soon to try their other unique dishes.

Brutally honest review *3 stars only because speakeasy picked up a big LACK the restaurant had.

My partner was recommended this place by several people for our anniversary dinner, we made reservations and we were both disappointed in poor menu clarity, poor service, the stark differences in how some great some food items were to how poor they can be.

We looked forward to the Pork belly- they forgot to prep it that morning so they weren’t serving it- not bad just disappointed. We then noticed an overall theme that a lot of dishes had rosemary which my partner is allergic too. It would have been nice to have that included in the menu for seasonings- regardless we informed the waiter to which she told my partner, “you should have told me before you ordered”

That was rude, anyways- we wave it away and continue. Wait an hour for our food which is to be expected at an establishment like this. Received our mains dishes and sides- the okra was too old and was tough and fibrous. I asked to send it back and the same blonde rude waitress came back and told me it was “the way they steamed it”. uncooked okra that’s properly right it soft. I corrected her and she continued to argue with me. Very unprofessional. This item was not removed from our bill as well- so keep in mind when ordering items, if they are messed up you will not be receiving a refund. The duck was dry and cooked unevenly but I will give it points because it has a very nice crispy crust which was tasty. We also ordered the crawfish Mac and cheese which was good but spicy. Here’s the good. Steak was phenomenal, if you are to order anything order the beef and pork dishes- those are their specialties everything else is meh. The hostess was great- they checked in multiple times and were great with speakeasy entry. Bar drinks were reasonably priced and food items were great- chocolate mousse is phenomenal- best I have ever had- beautiful flavor profiles with nuts, olive oil, salt, and citrus. Bar service was phenomenal and employees were very fun and engaged with customers.

The speakeasy was great- it made up for the lack the restaurant did. Will definitely visit speakeasy again. Restaurant I would be willing to try for the steak since that was amazing- I assume the pork is. Just really disappointed in quality and price when there are better options to be found around the tyler area. The blonde server though definitely needs to work on her customer service skills- belittling customers is a big no and that is how you...

it is 1.5 hours since i left the restaurant, i still do not have any taste in my mouth because the food was so OVER SEASONED/SALTED .

admittedly, i am a technological Luddite, and do not use apps. but to be forced to use a QR code in order to view the menu is degrading. worse to be told "i am not going to stand here and go through the menu" was infuriating. eventually my wife gave me the basics of the menu so i could choose. He could have used his own phone but suggested that my wife read it when i mentioned my dissatisfaction with this arrangement to the maitre de his lack of concern was blatant.

my wife indicates that the water smelled and tasted bad. she sent back the first cup and could not drink its replacement.

I was excited to try the octopus, i wish i could identify the taste of it, but was unable to discern anything but salt. i was able to taste a little of the sauce, but my wife tells me it was good.

my flat iron steak....how do i say this? the restaurant flaunts using locally raised beef etc. It looked like it was cooked well. i wouldn't know because the amount of seasoning totally obliterated the taste of the actual meat. it was served with a gigantic serving of fries which i appreciated until i tasted it. the amount of salt rendered it inedible.

My wife, however enjoyed her red snapper. she could only eat half and had the remainder boxed to go. the waiter put it on another table while delivering the check. I was so anxious to leave that it may still be there.

it is very pricey. i am ok with paying well for good food and service. this was neither, but still pricey. my experience would have to significantly improve to be disappointed. btw: when making the reservation the website asked if the dinner was to acknowledge something. i responded that it was a "special occasion". I wonder why they...
