I come here about once a week or so at the same time everyday after my night shift around 5:45-6am. Sometimes the food is limited and that’s fine with me i just get whatever is made, but today there was a very “a matter of fact” attitude ridden young man working who had pleanty of food already made and set out. I wait at the food table patiently til he turns around and says (naw we ain’t open). I stare waiting for the rest of the explanation and when there was none I smile and say “ okay how long, 30min 1hr 2 hr??” And he simply says “2”. And that must be an answer of pure laziness cause I promise if I come back in 30 minutes he will be ready and serving food. Felt like he just wanted me out of there as fast as possible. So today I won’t get my Friday taco because of his snippy and lazy demeanor. Young man needs to be retrained cause what I wanted what already made up and ready to be slapped in a taco. Would have taken him 4 minutes. Very displeased.
Fast forward 5 minutes to when I’m out here typing this out. I see him leave the building to the side of the gas staition to move his vehicle and smoke a cigarette. Now I know why he said 2 hours. Lovely. If I were to wait not my taco will smell like his lazy...
Read moreThe breakfast tacos are extremely generic tasting and similar to what you would get from a hospital cafeteria and I'm not joking. I stopped there using a coupon for a free breakfast taco and even free, my opinion is as stated. I asked for the basic potato and egg taco and the eggs were stuck on the heating pan, dry and rubbery along with the "fresh made tortilla" being extremely dry and more like a cracker. Everything appeared dry and or cooked for a long time at 6:45 in the morning! The only thing that I found to actually taste good was the salsa. Maybe they hope you cover up the unimpressive tacos with the salsa?!?! I guess I should have expected as much considering that it is in a gas station, however there aren't many choices without going specifically to a true taco restaurant. I gave it a try and got exactly what I expected. If you are just really hungry and don't care about quality food, then you have found the right place!
Update: tried this place again and bought beef fajita, picadillo, chicken fajita and once again potato and egg. Final verdict after all the money spent: Basura, which means...
Read moreExcellent food, friendly staff! I love Laredo Taco food. They have large portions, delicious handmade fresh tortillas, amazing barbacoa especially, and everyone is very friendly and service is quick. I come here probably too often, but it's worth it. And prices are great, too.
I know some guy named Roy Weaver left a bad review, but my experience was completely different. And I live nearby and will be coming here more often so if the quality changes I'll certainly update my review. I'm not worried though, Laredo Taco is a solid taco shop and I'm glad to see them expanding.
EDIT: Visited again,...
