When visiting Tyler, TX, a meal at Clear Springs Restaurant is a must! This is a locally-owned establishment nostalgically decorated with yesterday-year paraphernalia with an emphasis on fishing gear and other items found in the great outdoors. The restaurant specializes in seafood and touts its onion rings. Of course, there are plenty of other options from burgers to steaks, as well as various meatless items. The chips and salsa are a recommended starter - the salsa is made fresh on premise (remember, you're in Texas, so it will bring the heat!). I had the grilled salmon, and this ranks among the best I've had anywhere (which is saying a lot!). Highly recommended! The salmon has a very tasty sauce and is served with green beans and steamed rice - it was so good! Portions are a good size, so you can finish a meal and feel full without hating yourself later. Of course, you can always get a to-go box, but you'll probably make sure there's no leftovers. A full bar is the next room over from the dining area, which features a wide variety of spirits, beer, and wine. You'll find something that suits you. The staff is friendly and conversational - always ensuring you are happy and satisfied. There is plenty of parking, and the entrance is handicapped accessible.

Two of our families had dinner here a few nights ago. The service was okay, food was not that great, and the sweet tea was awful. Although not on their menus; please be advised that any party of 7 will be charged a GRAT and if the ticket is split; both tickets will have the GRAT and not split between the two. Our party was 6. The other family had 4 - both tickets were charged a GRAT totaling over $40. We've been to numerous restaurants that had GRATs added to their menu and when being seated they informed us as well. The frustration isn't the GRAT it's the fact it wasn't made known prior to paying. I did request that it be added to their menus so that another party isn't caught off guard.

In Chandler, Tyler, TX for a soccer tournament at Lindsey Park and we stopped by to eat lunch Saturday. The BEST choice made yet! Cool decor, and has a "saloon". We opted for sitting in the saloon for TV's to watch college football. Starters of gumbo and cheese sticks; both tasty and delicious. Meals of Lemon Chicken, Grilled chicken salad, Salmon plate, and Lil buddy plate. So, 1st thing, if not eating another meal that day then you will be good. But, if eating dinner, just fair warning the portions are huge! Everything was delicious 😋. Wish we had this restaurant in DFW. A great place to eat and enjoy 😉

Haven't been here in a while. Definitely isn't what it used to be. This particular visit the girl at the door refused to give me any eye contact while speaking to me to be seated. I felt that was pretty rude. She did it on the way out, as well, while wishing us a "good evening". I never heard her say anything but My kids said she muttered something. Sorry, I feel it's just good manners if your going to speak to someone, please give the respect of looking at them. We were seated and our waitress was friendly enough. Unfortunately she was a little slammed with tables. There was only one waitress on our side of the restaurant, waiting about 5 tables. Me and my 2 kids all agreed the food was about a 6 or 7/10. They ordered chicken fried chicken, and chicken fried steak. We also had 2 orders of mozerella sticks and 2 cups of gumbo. The gumbo and mozerella sticks could have been served hotter. The cheesesticks had already cooled off too long by the time we got those. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger out of curiosity, as I've never tried any burgers here. My burger had a weird taste and I could never figure it out. It wasn't completely nasty but something was slightly off. After alot of sniffing and trying to pinpoint the problem I think it was the mustard. I still have a weird after taste, An hour later. In any case, probably would have been a 3 star review, but the host lady not being very friendly or respectful lowered it a star. Been here many times in the past. Was my parents favorite spot and they both have been deceased...

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Took my Parents to dinner well attempted to and we waited 1 hour and 8 minutes to be exact for our food that was never put in the kitchen. When we asked our server he told us several lies one being “ two 15 tops just came in and they started their order before yalls” so we waited and asked agina he said “15 more minutes” we understand Sunday’s can be crazy at any restaurant but he tried avoiding us bc he knew we would ask where the food was. Finally since he wouldn’t come to our table my dad walked to the server (while he was hurrying to the back after giving another table their food and they were seated way after us) told him to give us our ticket for our water and two sweet teas that we had while we sat and wait. Instead of coming to the table he grabbed someone from the back and they told us two lies “our burner went out in the kitchen, we only Have 1/2 of your order ready” the said they would give us 50% off of our meal we had yet to receive. Then who ever the other person was said “your ticket never came through we ran out of paper” Not To mention I had my 5 & 7 year old with us. So two hungry kiddos didn’t make the situation any better. It was embarrassing to have to leave the establishment and have every one look at us as if we were being kicked out. We lovED that place but after that incident My family and I will NEVER be back again. If you go there I hope you have a better experience...
